OK, has anyone ever heard this term before? Swancho. I'm assuming the math is something like this: Sweater + Poncho = Swancho

I agree with Louise, that doesn't look like a poncho at all. When I think of sweater poncho I think of my orange one:

*grin* not exactly what I was expecting, I agree with Louise, this is more of a cascading cardigan.

Not sure if I like the words swacket and swancho either, but always good to know what's in the shops right:-)

I think the difference is that it is square in the front and cascading in the back only? Doesn't the typical cascading cardi work the other way—cascades in front and is even (more or less) in the back?

But what a word? I don't mind the look of this at all, but the name wouldn't tempt me to try it.

I've seen a lot of things that I would consider a sweater/poncho this year, but that is not one of them. I also think it looks like any other cascading cardi.

Somehow a "swancho" makes me think of a casserole involving an unfortunate bird, cooked Tex-Mex style. This particular item doesn't look any different to the waterfall cardigans that have been everywhere around here for the last couple of years -- they all have that odd long square front.

The more conventional crocheted ponchos were kind of popular here in the UK for a couple of seasons, but I always felt that they looked silly on me. Some of my friends managed to look super glamorous in theirs, though.
