Fire Britches Rides Again!

1. Channeling Meredith
Red Pants ("Mandie" from Bandolinoblu)
Linen-like Anorak from Kohl's (last year)
Black/White striped T, Chaps from Kohl's
Star scarf, Target
B/W canvas shoes, Payless (old)

I'm wearing one of Meredith's best formulas here -- although I won't try to copy her radiant, open smile. The angle of the photo isn't the best, but I'm beginning to think that white can be a good "color" for me, and I wear very little of it.

2. Same jeans and shoes

Ponte moto jacket from JCP (last year)

I'll wear this top a lot when it's warmer. What do you think about the high contrast and proportion? Again, I'm liking the white. I just "previewed" this look today -- didn't actually wear these pants three days in a row (hee).

3. Same jeans, moto and shoes
Python tunic, Apr 9, Kohl's

A little "grinning" here, but it may just be a result of the flash. This might make a good travel capsule outfit. Again, I didn't wear this look out today, but I'm trying to learn to do better and broader remixing. I'd probably wear this one with booties.

What about cobalt or aubergine jeans for Autumn? Anything I should do more? Anything I should avoid at all costs?

Oooooh red pants - I like. Love the striped T with star scarf. 2 is really cute not sure about 3 the python tunic with jacket proportions seem a bit off it may be where the straight edge of the tunic hits your hips. Slightly longer might be better.

Oh I loved 1-2. The length of the grey shirt in 3 bothered me. Can you tuck it? And add a scarf or contrast? The others had high contrast which really made top and bottom pop, but 3 was less contrast and left me wanting ....more

Great remixing! I love these red pants on you. Each of these combinations is fab however my favorite is #2. The canvas shoes are cute but I would love to see a Ballet flat in #2. And you have a very beautiful smile.

Pic 1 and 2 are great. Of course you can and SHOULD wear white, Beth Ann. Thumbs up from me on a high contrast of white and black top.
In pic.3 it is not the length of the top (it hits in the same spot another one does) but the fact that it is cut straight across your hips. Tucked (ir semi-tucked) it should look good. Isn't it the same one you wore with red jeans to the Chicago meetup? I am not crazy about these shoes with red jeans so, they seem too heavy due to the black color and their shape. Black and white canvas shoes go with red much better.

Ack! I love you in your fire britches! Outfits #1 and #2 in particular in fantastic. I agree that there's a proportion thing that's not quite working in pic #3.

Very nice fire-pants outfits! I love the black/grey/white with the red on you. I agree that a semi tuck on the last outfit might be fun. Do you have any black ballet flats? They might be fun to try as well. I love your black anorak, how fab it that?!

Love the classic colour combo(black white and red) with a current look( jeans, moto jacket, stripes). Yeay!
You definitely have to wear whites more often-you are brunette, why not???!
(I also struggle with whites in any other seasons than summer(I'm blonde), but have a white denim jacket (postYLF) that I really love in spring and fall, too.
Love the colourred pants too. Is that a straight leg? I usually cannot do skinnies in colours as I'm always concerned about my cellulite showing through on my thights, and haven't found a straight leg, yet. This one fits you perfect!

I think Sveta's comment is spot-on re: #3 - it's the straight hem rather than the length that is chopping you up. The other two outfits must be worn out and about! They are great!

Fab outfits, and ditto Sveta on the hem of the top. I was experimenting with this the other day and noticed exactly the same thing. I can do untucked tops if they are curved, not if they are straight. Fascinating!

And I just had to laugh, seeing your subject heading. How could we not click on that?

totally had to click on this one... love the fire britches remixes. Like everyone, I like 1 and 2 better, think the partial tuck is a great idea for #3. Two thumbs up for making red, white and black look modern... which is easier said than done!

I love the 1 and 2 pics so much!!! The number three is also nice but I agree that a curved hem would work better with that shirt then the straight hem. The shoes in #1 and #2 are adorable! You have a beautiful smile!

Great remixing! I like #1 and #2 as-is, very cute. Also agree with Deborah that ballet flats with #2 would look a bit sharper (black, nude, metallic...), and with Sveta that the hem of the shirt being straight in #3 makes the proportions a bit off as well as the black shoes are a bit heavy there. Aubergine for fall sounds lovely!

Amy -- buahahahaha! I really want to wear these to teach in -- of course they're more rock singer than opera singer, but there are always those far-out German operas!

Lyn -- these jeans are straight legs. They're available at Macy's, but only in blue, red and black. They're a nice weight for "coverage," if you know what I mean!

Marianna -- Yes, this is the pant/top combo (#3) I wore to the meetup. I like it better with the semi-tuck and no jacket (which is good, because I tend to run warm, and it'll be a great go-to outfit in early fall).

Beth Ann, #2 is my absolute favourite too! Love #1 as well, and agree with Sveta that a tuck or a rounded hem would make all the difference to #3. I'm wondering if you could wear your red shoes with the pants too?

Ps: Them flaming jeans would be so good for bawling out a recalcitrant student! Lucifer's sweet sister! (In fact, add Shakespeare's Sisters heavy eye make-up to complete, and your black jacket.)
