Finally got my hair cut this morning!

And I like it! It's quite a bit shorter now and she cut more than I wanted her to, but that's alright because my hair grows fast. I have some layers now and shorter strands in the front to frame my face. The best thing is that I feel much lighter with it and my hair feels fantastic! My ends really needed that cut.

Hi Astrid --

This cut frames your face and really brings out your curl!

As another wavy-haired woman I had all-one-length hair for a lot of my life. These days whether I have it above the jaw or below the shoulder I'm a total convert to having some shorter pieces in the front to help create movement and a sense of lightness.

ps I know it's allllll relative but your hair is still quite long. If you ever want to go shorter you don't need to worry...that will look good too.

You look beautiful! Love how the lost length is compensated for by more movement! It frames your face so prettily now and I think the curl has been freed a bit more by releasing the weight. Delightful!

Very pretty! Your hair looks shiny and healthy. It took me a long time to part with my long, curly hair when I was in my twenties, and then every decade, I seemed to go shorter, and shorter... And most times, it was the hairdresser who made that decision, unbeknownst to me until after the cut. :). Now, I just tell them to do whatever. Of course, that means having a trusted stylist.

Ooh, I like it! (I got more cut off than I wanted this time, too) But for both of us, it frees up the bounce and frames the face so much better. Great shape to it, too!

You look so mature with that stylish, modern cut Astrid. I love how you layered it while still preserving the length. It shows your pretty features a bit better now. It's still long, beautiful and feminine but it doesn't overwhelm you at all.

That said, if it *feels* too short to you, I TOTALLY get that. I'm feeling a bit like hiding behind the couch after my haircut like a dog who knows groomer clipped him too short, lol! I'll move over if you'd like a spot beside me.

Thanks Manidipa! Yes, it's definitely more curly now and I haven't even done anything to it. It just air dried and looked like that!

Thanks Dottie! I always had short hair in the past until I decided to let it grow. All the cuts I got during the last three years were always jsut about trimming the ends, more or less. That's the first time I got a 'real' haircut.

I really think this was a great decision! Now I've had time to get used to it and I really like it. The length feels alright already. And we were celebrating a birthday of a friend yesterday and I don't think I've ever gotten that many compliments on my hair before. My friend told me that this was the best cut I ever had and she's known me for ten years.
