I think you have a more radical sensibility than most - in fact, that's the style persona you cultivate, right? For example, your comment that the current burgundy leather skinnies look was something you'd been doing long ago, in your thread about moving to softer/boho looks. Perhaps that sensibility gives you a bit of a poison eye for looks that are not pushing the envelope to your way of thinking?
I know I find your comments extremely helpful and valuable when you point out what you see and why (for example, my ruffled skirt the other day - you were totally right about the mish-mash effect). It takes all kinds, but the cutting edge is just that - the edge and not the middle ground. And "off-kilter" is so subjective - what would be perfectly normal here in Alaska would be totally off-kilter in, say, L.A.
I remember asking whether the forum had a certain style or asthetic (for example, preferences for waist definition or not shortening the legline), and people mostly felt that no, it did not. However, there will always be a median and those who fall on either side of it, right?
ETA: I often don't read comments first so my opinions are not swayed by a majority of "fix this" or "this is perfect". And sometimes I am clueless, but mostly I can now understand why something others love might not resonate for me personally.
