Love this- so chic! Another fan of the sleeves!
Re: hair, your hair is your hair and not his! He can choose to wear his hair as he likes and vice versa

Love your outfit, really chic-and color scheme am I now all about, too! Split on the pants a great detail with showing off those gorgeous boots. I hate loose/wide sleeves indeed but now that you explained why you love them...Hmm, I may try again see if solves a problem-then I will be happy to conform from times to times as I too always feel I have a small head (esp with a short cut) in picties.

And, I am also growing out my hair a bit longer, especially on the back/neck. I never had a very short pixie but the back was always sort of short- (the recipee was a longer front and a shorter back). Now I want sort of a shorter on top and sides and longer back (is that a shag?) as I just don't like my neck from the back view anymore...Turns out it thickened over the years- and now I want some hair to cover more of it if possible, without being too long-as my hair is also very thin, very fragile and very fine...(I was always told to have a swan neck in my youth- but probably weight gain and decades of bad postures during office hours and cooking at home, too- (I am possibly too tall for an average desk height) made this to me unfortunatelly).

Pretty! And I love that subtle nod to the 90s with the cropped cardi.

You're looking gorgeous. I've been on a beige/camel and black vibe these days too (and as you'll see in another post, coveting a fancy black and gold bag.) You finally found some good slit hem pants, too! And I also bought two red lipsticks earlier this week (the stain works better for me but I don't want to be that jerk who returns used cosmetics).

As for the hair, I think yours suits your personality and style well -- but you know, nothing wrong with trying something new for a change. Men are often on the long hair (and dresses) thing. (My ex husband used to comment so much on one or the other that I did the opposite. Now my hair is very long and I wear dresses often, just because I like to!)

Those YSL lip oils look interesting. I miss wearing lip colour SO much - it was a huge part of my look. But I'm in a mask for 8 hours a day, 4 days a week so.....

The slit hem pants are fun, and I'm also looking forward to trying them with a platform sneaker. Janet - I had those same pants from Zara too, and they didn't last the year in my closet. As with everything I try from Zara, the fit was just off.

I'm flattered to read my name in the same sentence as Sharon Stone, but somehow I just don't see it. She has professional styling at hand, I'm sure. I like the idea of longer layered-messy hair, but the styling is beyond me - which is why mine has looked the same for 20 years . Lol.

And yes, men can take a seat with their hair and outfit comments. I think he saw right away that he had hurt me, and didn't say another word about it. PLUS - he has NO hair so why he feels the need to comment is beyond me. I think he was annoyed about something unrelated and it came out in my direction .

I love that outfit - great sweater and looks fab with the slimmer pants. I think your hair always looks great but understand why you might want to grow it out a bit. A change can feel really good. I had super short hair for many years and it took a couple of try's for my grow out to stick (if you can call my chin-length bob grown out :))

I really love this look! I had search Phoebe Philo pics for reference, and I think you really nailed that vibe: simple, elegant, elevated looks that you can kung-fu fight in.

(I'm dying over those front-slit pants, btw)

re: Your hair. I've always thought your hair was fabulous. You have a sort of punk music late 70s/early 80s vibe, like Blondie. Yes, your hair is shorter, but you carry all of the swagger. I think you rock short hair, and I think you'll rock the longer style, and all of the transition in-between! Also, I love that Sharon Stone reference for you, I think it's very apropos.

(Random thought: Don't you wish we could see photos of these stars, off-duty, when they're home for a few days and having to style themselves?)

You look very chic, Lisa!

Mary Beth - yes! And when you *do* see photos of stars caught unawares with no makeup or hair - it makes me feel better about myself - lol!

Lisa, I sometimes have to sit myself down and give myself a stern talking-to, for comparing my outfit, shoes, hair, etc. against still photographs, where the outfit has been professionally pressed, the makeup painstakingly applied by a professional, and the clothing pinned to the model... after which, everything gets airbrushed and photoshopped.

Also, you talked about your top and pants being two different fabrics, and I honestly cannot tell in your photo.
