Hi all, just a quick post to share what went on with me style-wise in February!
I did track for *most* of the month. Unsurprisingly to me, I wore a lot more pieces in Feburary than I did in gloomy January (my self-declared month of unapologetic lounge- and active-wear to combat the cold). The learning from this is to ditch the guilt and go with the flow. A month of leggings is not going to mean I will forgo jeans forever! Wearing sweats half the month still leaves half a month for something more casually-elevated. My total number of items worn this year sits at about 48. This includes clothing, jackets, shoes and handbags.
With weird weather and spring-like spells, I was feeling more colour and in fact I don't think I reached for a black top once this month (!!). One or two outfits failed me; I think because I was remixing items that I don't normally wear together - turns out there was a reason for that But mostly felt good, appropriate, comfortable and polished. A few examples attached.
My low-buy efforts continue! I ended up returning the Blondo boots I had purchased because they simply sat for too long with me not being excited to wear them. They were organized, but not emotional, if that makes sense! For the odd time I really want a taupe boot (e.g. photo 1), I have been able to make my less-comfy disappointing Blondos suitably wearable with the help of some strategic inserts. The main issue was the hard toebox so a little padding makes a big difference. Plus, the minute the weather allows it, I'm straight into sneakers so I have taupe ones on my wishlist.
I did purchase a new navy striped sweater from Banana Republic that I absolutely love and have already worn multiple times. It's a great piece that feels a little springy but is still warm for chilly temps.
I also purchased my wedding outfit, which I am not totally counting as a regular purchase - this might be cheating but this is a rare occasion to celebrate a very, very close friend so I felt something new and nice was important, although I could have put something together out of my closet if I'd needed to. I will also use this for my son's high school grad in June, with somewhat different styling, in order to get more wears. I also think the pants in particular will get a lot of casual wear once the wedding is done, so I'm hoping this won't be too wasteful a purchase.
For March, I have a couple of wishlist items that I will look for during our upcoming trip to the US for March Break. White shorts, a denim shirt of some sort, and taupe sneakers will be on my radar!
Thanks for looking! What did you wear in February?
