February challenge - day 13 ETA more combinations

This is my outfit for WFH, and to take my daughter to the airport. I can only work maximum 2 days per month from home, and I envy all of you who can wfh more than that in a week. I did wfh for few months in 2020 and I really liked it.

This dress was a mistake. I realized too late that it has too deep v for my level of comfort. So today I tried it with shirt under it. What do you think? I am also thinking to try sweater over it. Spot where I am taking photos have harsh ceiling light just above me that creates very unflattering shadows.

Cute dress, and I think it works well over a shirt. You could also try layering it over a cami or simple knit turtleneck.

Tanya- thanks, excellent ideas, will look into this. Currently I only have camis of the underwear type that are not for the show, but they should be inexpensive to get. My only turtleneck is dark navy, not sure if it will be too high contrast but will try.

It looks great with the shirt. I wear a camisole or tank underneath if Vs are too deep, though hope I have now learned not to buy them.

Like the dress but not with a shirt, TBH. I think textures and colors don’t compliment each other. I recommend heattech long sleeve t-shirts or a similar under layer. This dress is a comfy and nice option for WFH.

Thanks for the feedback. I tried 2 more combinations, with turtleneck under and sweater over. You have to imagine different shoes:) And a dress on its own.
You can see the problem there - I just don’t like showing cleavage.
Unfortunately could not try all your lovely suggestions. Is it weird that I don’t own tanks, camis or similar underlayers (other than hanro underwear ones)?

I actually like both #1 & 2. It shows how versatile this dress is, you just need to experiment more. I also don’t like to show cleavage and have some silk tanks and t-shirts to wear under most of v-necks.

I like it with the turtleneck under or the sweater over. Not a fan of the shirt layering. In your case, the warm and cool colours are fighting each other. In my case, too many lumps and bumps under a fine gauge knit.

Another layering option I use with a neckline too deep or open for my liking, is to fill it in with a big scarf. Do you have any that you could try?

This is such a lovely dress on you! I love it with the scarf, and with the black sweater over it. I think the turtleneck looks good too. It is indeed versatile!

I’m with Irina on all her comments . The scarf addition is perfect, too . As someone who is “ supposed to “ wear v necks ( body type ) I hate them as they are all too low and wide .

Great dress aside from the neckline! I'd prefer a white or beige top under though.
My favorite of these are the scarf and the black top worn over.

Scarf IS an excellent idea, problem solved really but I also like it with the sweater over.

Shirt under might risk awkward bulk in person as the dress is not a heavy knit

I like with sweater under not over. Also like with scarf though would never do that myself as find scarves fussy. It’s not weird you don’t have a tank or cami, you mustn’t have had the need before. If you choose to buy one think of other ways to wear it. I have a gold tank I love with white shorts in summer.

Like it best with the scarf then my next choice would be sweater over. I agree with the comments that any shirts under might look lumpy because of the thin knit of the dress.
