I am working hard on the sentimental items edit! We have a fancy new consignment shop in the area with lovely vintage things, advertised as “from the 40s to the 70s”. I didn’t know if she would take my late 1980s things but she did! Nothing has sold yet but it is a major victory for me to get them out the door. So here is a bit of nostalgia for you. BTW my daughters did not want any of this.
1-3 1988 Thai silk outfit from Singapore. Very very 80s shoulder pads! Worn to BIL’s wedding 1989, then Neil’s 30th birthday 1990( I’m pregnant there so it sits out oddly), a different wedding 1997 by which time it was already looking dated. I’m keeping the bright fuchsia silk blouse but selling the jacket and skirt.
4-6 Irish tweed suit 1988 bought in Blarney near the castle after kissing the Blarney Stone! “Avoca Collection” from the Blarney woollen mills. Skirt shown on baby Rebecca’s christening day. And now she’s married...Jacket shown recently when I was asking the forum’s opinion.
7-8 Vintage “Woodward and Lothorp” or something bought on Etsy late 2013 and shipped from Maryland! They were worn for Art Deco Napier here but they are really too tight and hurt my feet.
9. Genuine vintage Clark’s made in England, bought at Art Deco and worn later for a different 1920s event. These are really a bit loose but at the time I couldn’t resist them. Hopefully other vintage lovers may like
