Family Weekend and a few casual fall outfits

Hello there! Once again I apologize for my sporadic participation on the forum. Please forgive me. I'm still adjusting to my empty nest!

This past weekend was Family Weekend at my son's college and it was so wonderful to see my boy! DD flew home from NYC to join us which made the weekend extra special. The weekend was super casual and I dressed for comfort. Here's what I wore:

We had a rainy Saturday, so I wore my black MK trench and Aquitalia boots with the charcoal Pleione Mixed Media tunic top.

We started out our morning with coffee and pastry at a local coffee shop and I received the sweetest compliment from our student waiter. He told me he loved my "raincoat" and it added a certain amount of elegance to my outfit. What a sweetheart! You can bet your boots he got a good tip.

Photo #3: I didn't get any photos, but here is a reproduced photo of what I wore to the football game Saturday night. Luckily, the rain held off! The scarf is from Nordstrom's (last year) and the denim jacket in Kut from the Kloth.

Photo #4: DD wearing her Club Monaco trench that we bought with Angie last February. If you look closely, you'll see the little imp rummaged around in my suitcase and stole my Ecco Hobart boots and teal tunic!

Photo #6: I got my tunic back and wore it to breakfast Sunday morning before heading home. You've seen this on me before.

Photos #7 and 8: A new Casalon top that arrived in the mail while I was gone, styled two different ways. The first is a take on Angie's denim jacket and converse sneaker formula. I added a necklace for some bling. The second look is a little dressier, shown with AGL ballet flats and last year's Gibson riding jacket. Wow, these are FABULOUS! Okay, I am really wishing I had ordered that mixed media top; I LOVE it on you. I think I need (at least) one of those!! Do you find it comfortable?

Yep, your daughter's Monaco trench is one of the best purchases that day. I'm so glad to see you post. All of the outfits are fantastic. My favorite is #7. So fun! What a great picture of your children walking together

Suz, this is the first time that I've worn that top and it is comfortable! DD was eyeing it too, and I told her I would watch for it to go on sale. I am wearing my Kut from the Kloth Diana skinny jeans in black and my Paige Skyline jeans, both last year from Nordstrom's.

Zap, that was the best day! I can't wait until we can all do it again.

Ha! I didn't even notice the tub-balancing.
Cons do indeed come in olive, or they did last year--that's what color mine are. They're a bit unusual in that the laces are also olive--Converse laces are usually white (you could alawys switch them out if you prefer white, of course).

Where did you find that teal tunic? I love it, and the Pleione one too. If that Pleione tunic is still available in a little while, it may be what finally pushes me over the edge and convinces me to do a cross-border Nordstrom order.

Aida, I got my cons at a teen store called Journeys. My son buys shoes there and it gave me a little pause about age-appropriateness, but my DD assured me that EVERYONE is wearing cons in NYC - all ages. I haven't washed my tunic yet. How do you launder yours?

Ariadne, thanks for chiming back in about the cons. I love olive! Unfortunately, the teal tunic was from NAS two seasons ago. The charcoal one is still available, though, AND it comes in teal!
