First, the conference. I wanted to wear something less boring than I have in the past, so wore red jacket over navy polka dot Boden dress. Warm outside, freezing inside conf center.

A couple of months ago there was brouhaha over an all white male history conference at Stanford. The organizers of my conference encouraged women's participation and held a panel discussion at one of the luncheons. What a surprise to see several of the panelists wearing sleeveless dresses to discuss the topic, including "appropriate" dress in the workplace. One worked for a conservative organization that required her to wear dresses, although no one told her until she showed up the first day wearing pants. She conformed, but her sister made her a dress with the word "pants" printed all over it, which she was wearing as a panel member. I don't know how they stood the freezing a/c, but they were quite cheery defying certain norms.

Then on to Disney World where the weather was mid-90's, high humidity, and a thunderstorm every afternoon. We had a great time with10 adults and 6 kids aged 9, 7, 3 1/2, 2 1/2, 14 mo, and 5 mo. Cold-tender me was the only one who basked in the heat, but that's just the way I am.

I had my hair cut 2 days before we left but she left my bangs too long, as I realized too late.

I took more clothes than I needed, but I enjoyed wearing what I did have. I had given up on dresses until this year when something snapped and I bought several. Big change for me.

My most worn shoes were Clark's red sandals and New Balance sneakers. I have a lot of foot problems, but did amazingly well. According to DH's Fitbit we walked around 5 miles a day. I still can't get over how well my feet did. I switched shoes every day.

##1-2 first day conf and presentation outfit. That 1901 striped t-shirt rode up over bust but I didn't realize it until saw photos. Presentation was a bit nerve-wracking but Qs & As were fun.

##3 & 4 First night Disney dinner together. One cranky baby and her Mom had to leave. DH with sweetest 5 mo old.

#5 I left my hat home so bought a Disney hat, but except in sun it was too humid to wear it. So I carried it around and eventually squashed it into a bag.

# 6 Boden dress. I did wear the first Boden polka dot the first day in the park.

##7-10. Group photo; DH and me; DH, son and DIL and me. #10 What the kids ate. I'm surprised at how skinny my legs look in skinny jeans. (NYDJ.) The black/white sleeveless top from BR turned out great--just skimmed the body and was cool. Note to self, can I move on from tees?

## 11 & 12 Blue Boden dress alone and with cardi I brought for a/c, but didn't like it much. Most cardi's don't fit me well lately, I think it's the bust. Angie noted this dress was a little long, but it was okay until the rain shower, which left 2" on the bottom soaked. And this dress and the polka dot dress have pockets!

## 13-15 We went to the Swan hotel where we'd stayed 20 years ago, then had drinks in the lounge and last family dinner, where 1 baby and Dad were missing.

I wore a sleeveless top and a J Crew shirt over it. We used up nearly one bottle of sunscreen in a week, normally it takes me most of the summer to use up one. I was tired of putting it all over. DH loves the shirt by the way. I'm not so sure.
