This has been a busy year and I haven't posted as often as I would like. With so many thoughtful posts about wardrobe and style in the last couple of weeks, I realize that even though I haven't spent much time on clothes, my brain has been whirling away in the background. I realize that I have a cool and a warm season fast fallback outfit. I like the idea of a uniform--if I weren't still programmed with the 8th grade idea that I had to have a different outfit every day, I would realize that many of my buying mistakes have been picking items that are quite different than other things I have, and these get left unworn.
One impulse item I bought was a Joie linen jacket in spring 2014. I saw it in the store but it wasn't in my size, so went home and thought it over and ordered it online. It has been my warmer weather go-to item. Despite being linen, it travels well, doesn't wrinkle, and has a nice drape. You've seen it before.
At the NAS I bought a Nik+Zoe long cardi, also seen here. I didn't wear it until early November, but it has been my festive basic since then. (I also bought an EF brick red top that sat unworn until Christmas. With my gray hair I've tried to bring back red, but I have a hard time wearing the color. Same gray jeans in some of these photos.
#1-3 Joie jacket worn a year ago on wedding trip to R.I.. and last summer at Half Moon Bay, and many other places.
#4-8 N+Z, lunch, Thanksgiving (BIL photobombing), Old friend's birthday and anniversary as therapist party, (we used to be the same height--I'll do a post of losing height), Christmas, and modeling white elephant gift.
