With NAS just a few days away, and the other fall posts, I have started a want , wish list. Just a few so far. last fall/ winter I bought the Toms wedge desert boots. Love them and wore them everywhere -very comfy, and even though they are higher they feel almost like flats. mine are grey. Since I loved them so much I am looking for some like photo 2, even if they are not trendy I am thinking of them in place of sneakers with jeans for a change of pace.

I want a pair of tan low block heeled pumps like photo 3 if I can find some to stay on my feet. Also looking at some sort of colorful long jacket. Found this mango one but out of my size.

Love that jacket, and the desert boots may not be trendy, but I'd argue the flat ones like #2 are classic.

I have to keep reminding myself of my "less but better" motto for fall. Right now, my list includes a leather jacket, slouchy sweater, a silk cami or shell, and a statement piece in a boho print (actually I'd really prefer it to not be a "print" but a woven-in or embroidered design).

A trip to someplace cool ;-). Seriously though, it always tempts me to buy more for fall but I can hardly justify it with my climate being so warm for the biggest part of the year. I will as always be trying to find more fall colors in lighter weight fabrics that can at least make me feel like it's fall.

I love the nude suede you're collecting -- so lush and nice for fall!

Right now I am very much focusing on my main descriptor "glam gamine" (which for me works much better in fall/winter than in the summer) and I'm also adding in the idea of "dark drama." I have a really good base of clothing from the last couple of years so I am going to try to focus on (like Jenn) buying fewer but better pieces -- ideally items with real punch.

I do want one new pair of good jeans, dark wash, not sure what cut. I might be tempted by navy booties or midcalf boots.

From NAS, I am hoping to try the Trina Turk military coat below, which is a HEWI (and which, if it works, will mean consigning one or more current coats). I've already ordered the BR shirt, and the Alice & Olivia top is likely to be an inspiration (love it but quite spendy).

I'm VERY excited about the tailored and more formal nature of fall/winter dressing.

Yes the shoes are very pretty.

I cannot think of fall right now. Maybe that is why I'm always behind the curve.

Similarly to viva and Jenn, I've got a wide variety of good stuff, so I'm focusing on specific holes. White Chelsea boots, black heels, navy heels, black jeans, a navy skirt. Red shoes, maybe.

Aaand YLF has already come through, because I popped over to check the Amazon up-to-Prime-Day sales, and found my Cole Haan pumps in "blazer blue" for cheap from 6pm. MINE.

I agree with Jenn that a desert boot is an iconic classic. I also love the idea of a patterned coat for you! Fun.

I'm looking for a fabulous pea coat or military style coat. I also need some new undies, and I'd like a couple of statement knits of some kind.

I'll want a new pair of higher shaft booties and replacements for my Aquatalias, and worn out dark turtlenecks.

I also need a wonderful bag and am considering red.

BrieN- those pumps are posted from Pinterest. I was looking for them in early spring (I think those are Jeffrey Campbell) but when I found out I needed dressy sandals for an event I did not get them then. Now I shall try to find a pair like that. Since block heels are growing on all sites, and fall pumps will be in soon, I will be able to find some like that.

My list is for basics. Most of my work clothes are wearing out. I'm looking for a white cardigan, pants (I won't be able to get these at NAS unless they magically start stocking tall sizes), a grey suit, a tweed jacket and a satchel.

All leather for me! I'm still on the hunt for a black leather jacket. I need a replacement black/silver buckle belt. I would like to add a cognac belt and replace a cognac handbag that I'm not loving anymore. I also desperately need a new wallet (some color other than black so I can find it in my handbag).

If they happen to come along...EF has 3 colors at the moment that I love: rhubarb, jewel and watermelon. I could be very tempted to buy something in any of those colors.

To me desert boots are a classic. I have a pair and I love them. This fall I am looking for booties and sweaters. I might order the BR wrap cardigan that is one of Angie`s finds. I am also tempted by the dress but when would I wear it?

I love the long jacket ... I'm not sure if it would work for me or not but it would be fun to try something like it.

Fall won't reach my part of the world until mid-October, so I can't imagine shopping for it just yet. Last year I bought a ton of great jeans and boots, and some great lightweight jackets/toppers, so to be honest I don't "need" a lot. But I'd love to find some non-jeans pants that made me feel fab (so few do ...), and to master a button-down shirt pattern so I can sew some from special fabrics. And it would be nice to get a few things that expand my horizons wardrobe-wise, but I'll have to watch and wait to see what those might be.

I think I should replace my leggings from last year-- they're the Vera Wang for Kohl's brand and though they are quite decent I'm not sure I can, or should, get two years of heavy wear out of them. How often do you all replace your leggings?

The main thing for fall and winter is a black cashmere turtleneck that I can wear under a ruby-red sleeveless dress I have. I would need one that is pretty thin. Open to suggestions on that one!

I haven't even begun to think about fall yet.

I had no idea those desert boots were still a current thing. I have a pair that look much like pic #1. I haven't worn them in a few years.

My immediate reaction is the following:

Fall/Winter shopping list:
1. Warmest type long down coat for winter (replacing well worn old coat)
2. Solid neutral blazer (not tweed) in wool, or wool blend
3. Long sleeve dresses (2-3)
3. socks/bras

However, I still need to go back and look through my clothes and think about my style, what direction I want to go with it in terms of updating.

Like some of you I'm going to try to be very specific which what I'm looking for and go for quality over quantity. On my list so far is a leather moto jacket; black or ink I think.
Tall black boots with a chunky 2 1/2" heel. This is a huge HeWI because they also have to fit my short, muscular calves.
A gray sweater to replace one the months found - soft and probably v neck.
Another statement sweater or two.
Good quality black cardigan.
Black loafers - modern looking. Pointed toe? Patent?
A bag - possibly red. So Suz, we can look together.
There's a lot of black on this list! Maybe I need to add some pieces with a lot of color!

I like the desert boots, and I have seen a few different styles around and about. Clarks have a pair that aren't completely flat, with a crepe heel, which I am thinking about. I like the sound of the grey colour. I like the jacket, particularly the red side - I am not sure about the other side!

I was in Massimo Dutti yesterday, and they have some beautiful leather jackets in light brown, which I am thinking about.

I like the desert boots as a classic. I eyed the Toms in picture one before I realized my feet simply won't tolerate heels anymore.

I live in a warm climate, and although I love fall clothing the best, I have to be practical. I am looking for a pair of comfortable black booties with minimal heel. The kind I can wear to walk for miles. I didn't find anything that passed my comfort test last year at all, so I will renew my search this year. I would like a pair of looser jeans. Not super boyfriend, maybe straight leg. I am looking for something other than skinny. But due to the lack of heels, I don't love boot cut on me without a heel. Boy -I never realized how much the lack of heels in my wardrobe is affecting what I pick out going forward. And perhaps a lightweight topper or sweater if it calls to me. But that's not a priority. Also a replacement black skirt for tights and boots. My old one is several years old and close to the end of its usefulness.

No real thoughts on fall yet but I would love to expand my jacket capsule...a moto maybe. I would also like a few pullovers in luxe fabrics. Last winter was colder than i expected (i recently moved) and my packable puffer didn't cut it, i may need to invest in something more substantial.

I too love the desert wedge and agree it reads classic.

I'm gonna have to wait for Angie. I went and perused Vogue.com and Fall RTW 2016 and I was not excited. Nothing emerged for me. It felt very 'lookless' to me.

I bought and returned those Jeffrey Green block heel pumps, not because I didn't love them but because they ran small. Also I have so many shoes! But you remind me I love them and may size up and reorder.
