Jane, thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks Sal. After this reception, I will keep wearing it indeed.
Thanks La Ped. Who knew back in Florida that all I really wanted was layers?
Thanks Brooklyn! I’m trying to think of *any* welted sweaters I own; isn’t that strange, to maybe not have any? I might try the shorts with this baseball jacket. The plaid and botanical would be quite the clashy pattern mix, but the colors are just right, so I may give it a go.
Kellygirl, Star, Jessikams, NJ—thanks!
Gigi, stay tuned.
Carla, I wasn’t thinking of CPTS but you are right—I did get it all in there! The shorts have a botanical print that doesn’t show up super well in these pix, so that’s the pattern. I’ve attached a close-up here.
Kate & Suntiger, these are my fall colors; the shorts were part of a hot weather fall capsule I put together in Florida.
Kate, not sure if it was my son or the weather making me smile. Today is lovely too. Tomorrow we are back to rain.
Come to think of it, all of these items have been in my closet for a while. The suede jacket was in that capsule too; it’s Esprit, purchased from an outlet store in Kentucky a year or two before my son was born. I can’t recall when/where I got tthe sweater, but remember that when I found it in my closet & was trying to figure out what to do with it 3 years ago, Krishnadoux made a very sweet comment. Even the cable tights have been with me for a while—they are from Hannah Andersson, which I don’t think I’ve bought since my son was about 5. The shorts were purchased when we lived in Texas, 13-14 years ago. So, clocking in at just under 3 years old, the boots are the newest items in this mix.
Note: I clicked on the shoes by mistake, on the way to the jacket find, but decided to leave them in as a plug/plea for people to go to my boring post about shoes that can be worn with orthotic soles and if any of the finds are styles I’d want to wear without orthotics.
