Thanks everyone! It’s funny about the “big shoes”. Wearing combat boots with sundresses is a thing (at least here) but dialing back that clunkiness brings out the doubt. Interesting
Preppy, you know “change of pace” is my middle name. I wasn’t exactly thinking of it when I put this on, but you’re right—I live to add slightly unexpected twists.
Sal, how did I miss that??
Rachylou, from what I can tell, there are no characters on the show I want to emulate—bunch of clueless white folks whose cluelessness is excused because they’re cute about it—but the comment that I was dressed like one of them amused me.
Ophelia, the thing I still haven’t figured out is how people in BosWash (yes, that includes the area in-between) interpret these temperatures. Here as in Tampa, people act like 70 is chilly and they bring out the warm fall clothes (well, in Tampa they thinks that’s deep winter). But I’ve lived other places that have the “hang onto summer” vibe and wear warm-weather clothing as long as they can. The DC end of the trip is easy, because it will be undisputedly warm. But further north, when temps are on that cusp, idk what people wear.
Jenn, good thing the boxy works, because blazers r not me.
Sally, the shoes were stiff when I first got them. I’ve broken them in a bit. For me, leather shoes without socks aren’t usually a problem. That’s probably not helpful. Sorry.
Brooklyn, I’ve got the skirt. High-five on the double-bagging.
Thanks, RobinF.
Lynn, I wondered who would recognize the dress. I’m enjoying it for everyday wear, instead of special events.
