Everett/North End meet up?

Hey ladies!

Anyone interested in an Everett meet up? Aida, I'm looking at you! And naturally any Seattle ladies would be invited too. I was thinking maybe the first or 2nd Saturday in October. We could either hit the Tulalip outlet mall or Alderwood after eating lunch or brunch.

Suggestions welcome!

Yes yes! I would definitely be interested Have you been to the Red Cup Cafe down on the Mukilteo waterfront? We could get coffee and breakfast there then head up to the Tulalip outlet mall. I think Kari also knows of a tea house in Marysville?

I'd definitely be interested! I personally can't make it on the weekend of October 1st, but the weekend of the 8th would work for me.

(I'd also be happy to drive a carpool if any Seattle area ladies are interested in going up.)

I'm totally up for trying out new locations too, though - those of you in the north end probably know of a lot of great local places that I don't! The Red Cup Cafe sounds great.

I hardly ever make it up to the Tulalip outlets because it's just that far enough away from me. It would be fun to explore it with YouLookFab members!

I've never been to either! I'd love to check out the waterfront in Mukilteo, though. So how does the 8th, meeting at Red Cup Cafe sound to you? Maybe 10am-ish? I'm not a morning person so earlier is not good for me.

Hehe Well Red Cup is pretty low key, my husband and I pop down there for super casual Sunday coffee and bagels/croissants. If we want more fabulous food we could definitely hit up a more proper restaurant, there's a lot of good food in Everett. For breakfast, the Totem has delicious pancakes and bacon, the Vintage makes an amazing bloody mary, and Anthony's and Ivars probably both have great brunch menus. The Mukilteo waterfront also has Diamond Knot brewery, but probably not as good for breakfast There's also the option of eating at the Casino, I think they have like 6 restaurants? 10am on the 8th would work for me! Kari yay for driving up, it'll be great to see you

EDIT: The outlet up there is pretty busy but you can really score some great stuff.

Shall we PM others who attended the last couple Seattle meetups to see if they would be interested?

I may also try to see if my mom could join us, because I've been raving to her about the group. She said once that she would be willing if I pre-approved her outfit.

Oh I totally forgot about Patty's, we go there for breakfast quite a bit! They make a delicious waffle and have a decent Benedict. I think Patty's food is probably better, but the Vintage's atmosphere is very cool; Totem probably has the tastiest food, and Red Cup is certainly the most laid back cafe-ish of the lot. The Majestic is another yummy food option, though I haven't been there in a while.

Definitely ask your mom! And good idea on PMing those who were at the last few meetups, if you're willing to drive a carload up north I'm sure a few of them would be interested. The more the merrier I say

The Pattys EggNest restaurants serve pretty good home-style food. The one in Mukilteo is DEFINITELY much better than the one in Everett on Evergreen Way...which borders on being a dive, from my one experience there. Will not go back. Prefer the Totem for good old-fashioned breakfast; can't go wrong there. Plus their homemade cinnamon rolls=heaven in a bun!!! Not a glamorous place but great home cookin'.

Oh yes I like the Vintage vibe but have not been there for breakfast, just dinner. Good choice, Aida.

/highfive Sheila! Fully agree with you about the Patty's in Mukilteo being superior. Totem is probably the best kept breakfast secret in Everett

EDIT: Yeah, I think Vintage is probably best for vibe (tasty, if simple, breakfast options; they have a cornflake french toast that's pretty fun), Totem or Patty's for food, and Red Cup for lazy chatting (they also have outdoor seating!).

I love the Totem. They're not far from my house! It's pretty casual but the food is great and even the drip coffee is pretty good. I've only been to the Eggnest in Monroe and wasn't overly thrilled.

IMs sound great! I'd do it myself but I don't know who all went to the others!! I really wish you could make it, Anna.

Andrea, I just sent out emails to all the other attendees of previous Seattle meetups that I had email addresses for - Angie included, of course - and provided a link to this thread. Hopefully some other locals will be able to join us. Sheila, will you still be in New York, or will you be back on the West coast by then?

I'm still quite new to YLF, but I'd love to join you! I'll keep watching for a definite time/place. All those places sound great to me, although Totem has been jam-packed both times I've been there. A less busy place might be more conducive to long chats!

Well darn - I can't do the 8th but I'll be interested to hear how it goes and especially your Outlet mall visit. I've never been to that mall but I've always wanted to check it out! Hooray! I'm finally privy to a meetup in time to actually attend! I have to check my calendar to be sure, but I'm almost positive that I can come. I'm up for meeting wherever, so I'll just stay tuned to see what the group decides. Fun!

Aida, it sounds like Phoebe and potentially Angie (pending availability) are interested in joining us too. It would probably be a good idea to make a larger reservation and then we can always downsize later.

It sounds like Antje and Laurel are pretty likely to join us too. Hope that Phoebe can make it - she is so lovely, and it was great to meet her in person at brunch a couple meetups ago.

Angie & others either on Seattle or the Eastside who would like to carpool, I'm happy to drive.
