I have been thinking about the different style descriptors ever since Zaeobi made her post on them. I have never attempted to label my style before, mostly because I lacked any, heh.

Also because I have felt that putting a label on my style is very constraining. Surely I couldn't fit into any ol' boring box, right?

But I have been coming back to the list Zaeobi posted. It's brilliant, really. Let's say there are only these 53 styles. There surely can't be an infinite amount of styles, so let's use these 53 as the different styles, and then you have the variants thereof. And of course: the real magic happens when you combine three styles to make up your personal style descriptor. Now we are talking a ridiculous large amount of style variants. I am no math wizard, but I reckon the number is big.

Well, back to what I landed on for me. At first it seemed easy to pick out "my" style words. But I quickly realized that it's a little more to it than that.

Some styles speak out to me because I love them on others. Some styles I adore because that's how I WISHED I dressed. What's really hard is to figure out what is authentically ME. And frankly, what I actually would wear. This has taken some time and some pondering.

As always, outfit pics are fun and educational. After a week or so of pics, I think I notice a theme. I may have landed on three key styles:

Ethereal. Minimalist. Casual.

Here are three recent examples of real-life outfits, that I feel encapsulates that. Not perfect of course, but with the help of the style descriptors I think I see what I am aiming for.

I will use these key words going forward. How fun to always be learning and experimenting with style!
