So here I was again, at The Bay, trying on Eileen Fisher (and crying inside because it's so pricey). They finally had some slouchy pants, though I'm not sure if they are harem pants (I don't think so?). I try them on and they feel like pajamas. Haaaaaappppyyyy!
Now the look - I'm not used to this. My "uniform" often involves slim-fitting structured bottoms to highlight my legs. This is slouchy around the crotch/bum area - something I often avoid.
The cobalt silk top is a new purchase from Aritzia (the reason why I'm in the mall). I hemmed and hawed about it for a week then decided to get it.
I apologize for the picture background. It's not easy to see the pants
My concerns are these:
- in my new comfy/edgy/casual (slacker) chic style, one can easily cross the line of easy elegance and sloppiness. I aim to be the former. My top is quite slouchy and so are the pants. How do they look together? Easy elegance or sloppy?
- EF and some similar aesthetics were associated with "someone who had let go of fashion/style due to age" (ok sorry if I offended anyone). The most recent EF styles have been quite edgy and youthful and I'm aiming for that. I'm always concerned about looking too "matronly" or frumpy. How does it look?
I never bought the pants as I can't afford $165 CDN just for one pair. I'm thinking about it though.
Your thoughts are welcomed!
