Very modern and not even close to frumpy! I recently bought a similar pair of loose EF silk pants recommended by a SA and was cringing at the price. But after experiencing a sweltering 95 degree day where they kept me cool and hardly had a wrinkle, realized it was worth the investment.

Absolutely stunning!! I love the top for you and also adore the pants.

I do love my Bernias and the Bay still has some in black I think, although limited sizes and not on sale. They are not rigid soles but still might work due to the construction. Worth trying if you can find them.

I love this look on you!

EF was matronly up until about 2001. They've revamped considerably. I also find great new and gently used pieces on eBay - it is absolutely worth the time.

Ugh, your The Bay carried EF! the ones in Edmonton don't.

As for EF, let me offer you a new perspective, I'm new to the brand and came to it without reading about it being thought of as frumpy (I immigrated to Canada from Cuba 8 years ago). Being from a country where fashion is still in the 80s I look at brands with an unprejudiced eye for the most part.

I find it that many people online at least, do not even consider EF because of that hang up. The clothes are simple and many items are edgier (check out the new for fall reversible asymmetric black and white top that will be available soon) and the fabrics are for the most part very good. There are some items I would not wear (as in every brand) and items I would go broke for.

You look great in that outfit and making me reconsider the slouchy pants.
