Adventurous Sage?

I remember the photos you posted from your Bali trip - you looked so fun and playful. There is a great playful/serious juxtaposition in your outfits, but not in a juvenile way, if that makes sense...

Hi Jenni, you have some interesting suggestions here, and I won't add to them. Rather, I suggest you take the ones you like best and evaluate them against potential purchases (they can be theoretical). This process helped me settle on Fun NY Eclectic.

Yes! Great idea Christina. I could actually take the ideas and walk into my own wardrobe and think would a whatever whatever wear this?

Yes! Furthermore, I have already been using the moniker to cull my wardrobe a bit. While I have space for it (using seasonal storage), it's a bit more than I need. I've done it so far with Finds, but the real test will be when I pull out summer clothes. I have waaaay more than I need for that season, which is a brief, though often intense, 3-4 months.

I know you like bright colors and (I think) animal prints, so I'm going to suggest "Tropical Tigress." Because a tigress is a fierce defender of her young, a tireless worker to provide food and shelter, and a creature of beauty and resilience!

Playful Practitioner or Fun Physician!

I love 'tigress' for you, Jenni. tapdancing tigress (tapdancing for your fun side).

Hi Jenni --

Great ideas for you here! Another who feels that "Playful Practitioner" would suit you very well. Don't forget that "practice" can be a wide-ranging term that relates to all your hobbies and interests!

I'd also like to encourage your cheeky side by saying -- "feel free to pick a few monikers, I did!" And 10 or so years on my 3 continue to drive my clothing and design decisions. The clothes often overlap categories but the combos more or less determine how I label them.

So...with multiples in mind...what about adding "Lighthearted Seeker" as a sibling moniker? Seeker is so much more fun than "sage" and captures the innate curiosity you can't hide from us!

I can see some themes here - just what speaks to you. Words are so personal - I can see the appeal of Magpie but they are my least favourite bird so I would never choose that for myself. Other people see them quite differently.

I love the playful or cheeky because you love the colourful and detail on items. You love pattern, statement shoes, shine/metallic and earrings.

I also see the grounded/tigress/practitioner side too.

For me whilst I am casual I prefer the word relaxed because casual to me has a slightly slack air about it..... and I want to be more relaxed and make others feel at ease (strong aspect of my personality.

Bold encapsulates my love for print, slightly statement pieces, and I want to be bold and brave in life

and elegance is what I want to aim for....

I am also practical and a Mum and help run a busy engineering firm but at the moment these kind of go without saying.....and while my job and life dictates lots of flat shoes and jeans at times, I don't see them as defining my style?

Hmm well for my two cents I see lively and colourful mostly. You do have a sparkle in your eye.
I like tropical tigress too :).
But it’s tricky because I agree that although your clothes are a bit theatrical... your personality seems downright sensible and intelligent!
How to marry those two aspects in one
moniker?

Thanks Jussie I still don't know. I may be going to make it more aspirational to the lively side I'm thinking, because the sensible part kind of goes without saying now. I considered the suggestion of Sage and Guru but felt they were a bit overstating ( I may have some wisdom but not that much) and also Sage makes me feel like a herb! Last night I found gorgeous pictures on line of the Elves and the Shoemaker, and will add some of them to the post later today. They are not the chubby little elves I remember from the illustration in my childhood book which I gave away a few months ago, but they are cute and snappily dressed. That's the way I'm leaning.

Sassy Sage! Alliteration and a nice juxtaposition of cheeky fun loving colourful femme and grounded healer mother woman.

Thanks Carla I do like alliteration. Sage still too herbal... considering Lively Elf ATM.

Delightful Elf.

You wear clothes that delight you and are delightful!

“Snappily dressed” that’s you!

Well, how attached are you to having a character-based moniker? Because the first thing that comes to mind for me, having only skimmed all the comments, would be "Practical Whimsy" or "Grounded Whimsy": I think whimsy gets at the idea of playfulness without sounding childish, and grounded or practical could indicate your caretaker role without feeling too aging/dowdy.

Maybe a bit attached to character- based La Ped? Perhaps influenced by Gryffin's P-POD which I really like for "Would a P-POD wear this?". About to do Christina's idea of walk into my own closet to see what I like/wear the most.

I like "Christina's idea of walk into my own closet to see what I like/wear the most" and think you can build on it by asking why you like them/what they say to you/what you feel you say when wearing them.

Hello, this is my first forum post!
As a newcomer to the forum I don't know you at all, so perhaps I can offer a bit more objectivity about the styles shown in your pics -- because my sense is that you've got your life situation (not so much personality) tangled up with your style moniker.

Describing you from the pics I see: pixie hair, petite frame, adorable smile

Describing your outfits from the pics I see: artsy, artsy, and again artsy. Many of the pieces look like they could be handmade because of crochet details, painted-type prints, bead earrings... and the pieces are unique, not the kind of thing you see in every retailer. Also, you are not afraid of color or texture, that vest is divine! And again, unique.

So a couple of moniker ideas for you:
Grown-up Bohemian
The Practical Artist

Someone else noted that the style moniker idea is most helpful as a shopping tool. I have found this to be true as well. It doesn't need to sum up your whole life and personality!

Thank you Sonce, I am so honoured that you should make your first post about me! And welcome to the forum, on which I spend an inordinate amount of time, it is my main relaxation but also really makes me think, and about deeper things than fashion.
I agree with you that I have confused my life situation, as matriarch or practitioner, with my style moniker. I had already decided that I would leave them out. So I am not taking the lovely sage, guru or tigress suggestions. Thank you for suggesting artsy, I don't feel artsy, putting my outfits together is however my main creative outlet. Most of the clothes are not handmade but some are, some of the beaded earrings are made by my sister-in-law who has a small business on the side making them.
In the end, and thanks to ALL who have contributed, I am going to have a mixture of what was suggested by Runcarla, Suz, and myself.
I adore the first pic below, and the second one shows a white-haired elf. My kind of elf is not an Arwen or Galadriel sort!
I am now the Sassy Shoemaker's Elf! Cheers to all. Off to change my profile x

Oh! I like the Sassy! Very good! It's a great thread with a very happy ending!

That’s brilliant! Sassy had crossed my mind. I love the shoemaker part because shoes have a big place in your style in my mind.

Quirky, matriarchal pixie?
