East Coasters: NYC Gatherings: FINAL DATES!!! Book your Trips!

The exceptionally KILLER Seattle gatherings celebrating 20 years of YLF are behind us. They exceeded my high expectations and were sooooo awesome! Onward to NYC.

I'm grateful for your thoughts and guidance, please

Timing: I'm thinking June or Sept. Possibly Oct. Which month is best?

Days of the week: Friday, Saturday and possibly Sunday. What do you think?

Locals and NYC aficionados: I've been to NYC more times than I can count, but it's been 13 years since I was last there! I no longer know it as well as I used to. I will need - and greatly appreciate!!! - your help organizing the gathering there. Where to stay, eat, shop, look, and walk!

There will be TWO gatherings in Manhattan:

Friday Sept 18: For anyone who is already in NYC and wants to shop and hang out with me!

Sat Sept 19: The OFFICIAL BIG gathering.

Details of where to meet, TBC. We will need a sense of numbers before we can book restaurants.

Yay, NYC will be KILLER too!! For me, June, Sept or early October could work. I think Saturday is best, with Friday as a close second.

Fifth Avenue south of 23rd has all of the major retailers and then could lead us down into the boutiques of the village and SoHo. Just an idea!

Like kkards, I am also crossing my fingers I can make this work. I agree with the idea of Saturday being a big day and a bonus day of Friday. I'd love to do some fall shopping with everyone!

The best month for me is September — or the first weekend in October (after that I will be in Japan for a month). June could possibly work, but might be trickier than September.

I would love to be there if scheduling works out! I’m way overdue for a NYC visit, and I know this will be so much fun. Thank you for asking our input!

I would love to be able to come. June or October would be easier for me. September would depend on when, as i am supposed to travel the first half of the month.
I also agree that it makes sense to make Saturday the big day.

My own preference is for September as June feels too soon, and Autumn shopping is a better bet at this point.

September is probably easiest for me, the farther notice the better. If the gathering is near the train station, I'm ok, but I wouldn't feel comfortable trying to navigate public transport or taxis or anything like that.

If I can make a hotel recommendation, The Belvedere, where I always stay. 48th street between 8th and 9th avenues. Lovely quiet block. Walking distance to the theater district and a few blocks from the subway (to museums, Soho, etc.). Fifteen minute walk to Columbus Circle and Central Park. Equally important, one block from a fantastic bakery- Amy's bread.

I only take the train in for day trips, so I can't provide too much intell on places to stay, etc... But I would love to join in! Late September or early Oct would be great. Hoping it works out!

I vote for late June if possible because there are some graduations I cannot miss in early June. October and September can also work for me if I know the dates in advance. If October, I suggest early October because we often get snow around Halloween. I will be driving….

It will be so fabulous! I went to the Devil Wears Prada 2 last night and I so want to be in New York. It won’t work for me with work but I will be cheering from the sideline.

Oh no, I will be in Germany at that time. I’m so sad I’ll be missing out on such a fun shopping adventure with you all!

Woohoo!! The Seattle celebrations were absolutely brilliant and NYC is going to be just as much fun. Wish I could join you in person, but I'll be enjoying all the festivities through the forum posts and photos!

I am a maybe! Been talking to my DH about it all morning. If I’m going to go, I would much prefer September to October. October is too cold! I will start investigating when the dates firm up.

Hello my loves! I have not been here for a hot second but had to log in to reply to this thread!

I’m afraid I can’t commit yet (the fall is always busy for me and I never know my plans that far in advance) but I am going to keep September 19 on my radar!

I have such fond memories of past YLF gatherings and I miss them and you all! Love you all. ❤️❤️❤️
