It's very strange indeed. Unlike Merwoman and Diana, I have worn my puffer, but only a few times, and only briefly on my way to the gym at the crack of dawn. Oh, and once to go skating, on the sole cold day we had. (The outdoor is closed again).
And the weather has indeed affected my style. First, I decided not to buy a new puffer this year after all. I couldn't find my perfect coat and it didn't make sense to buy something I won't love or need. My wool coats are fine for our current temps. Though I could use a trench with a liner in the current rain.
Anyway. Instead of buying for myself, I donated my "puffer" money to the refugees. They will need coats this year more than I do. If something fun turns up on sale after the holidays, I'll consider it, but I don't feel a pressing need to search.
Also, I'm waiting to buy new snow boots. Maybe I won't require them, or maybe I'll find some on sale post-holiday. I have been shopping for them, but sporadically, and I haven't found a good fit/ style combination yet. In another year I might feel the need to buy something to fill in, but that hasn't been necessary yet.
I read yesterday that we will get colder temps this winter in the east-- just later than usual, probably in February or thereabouts.
