After an exhausting week, occasions for dress up to casual wear this weekend, same day. Digging deep to shop my closet as most items are several years old. Everything I am wearing was bought in 2018 or earlier.
To a ballet performance: Kiyonna Luna forest green lace dress, emerald and cobalt velvet pumps, sparkly black envelope clutch, pearl necklace and bracelet.
Necklace was a hand-me-down from my mom; bracelet was a gift from my dad from a business trip to India. I’ve had both pieces for well over a decade - I am shopping my jewelry closet, too.
The Kiyonna dress is a few years old (2016) and I like it, but don’t wear it as often as I should. There’s one specific bra that works under it (due to the tan lining not being 100% opaque) and I have to do a little wrangling with the bust and arms to get in it since there’s no zipper. But it’s a lovely piece and I’d like to wear it more often.
Casual wear for a family dinner: I am dressing for practicality because I knew I’d be playing with my sister’s new puppy, plus my dog Lucy and my parents’ dog, and that involves lots of time on the floor and puppy kisses and working with a pup who is trying hard to learn not to jump up. I wore favorite Universal Standard joggers with a very old (2012) Nic and Zoe light sweater, and even older (2010, maybe?) Me Too colorful tweed flats.
Left the makeup and hair from earlier in the day. A lot of the makeup got licked off. Worth it!
