For a casual family barbecue, I decided to break out the Universal Standard Geneva knit dress in midnight blue (a more saturated navy.) I love this dress - it is so easy and comfortable. I got it in petite sizing for a more tunic-length fit. In mild winter days I wore it with a very long jacket; in spring I used a denim jacket as a topper. With a hot day, I paired it with yellow Caslon suede mules, a rose gold statement necklace, and rose gold bracelet.

As I’m going makeup-free a lot on days where I don’t go out, when I do put it on, I’ve been playing with very bold colorful eyeshadow and eyeliner. I tried hot pink blended into a lighter pink and shimmery gold, and then a bright blue liner on my lower lashes.

My elderly rat Izzy, who is pretty ill, makes a shoulder cameo here.
