I bought this fabulous Adrianna Papell dress last spring for a charity auction and have been looking for a chance to wear it again. For a small wedding at a casual resort (McMenamins Grand Lodge for those of you in the PNW) I wanted to funk it up a bit. For the auction I wore it with hose, real pearls, and crystal embellished satin slingbacks. For this weekend's event, I went with steel and costume pearls, and a pair of studded platform sandals sans hose. (Weirdly comfortable shoes for being so high.) Added a burgundy velvet bag I snagged for a song last year at a Black House White Market outlet.

It was a lovely intimate wedding, with two friends who are just perfect together. They walked in to Queen's "You're My Best Friend" and walked out to the Star Wars processional.
Many thanks to Angie and all of you - I don't think it would have occurred to me to try to dress this down without your wisdom and examples to guide me.
