Dresses for Vegas this weekend...

DH's birthday gift to me is a few days in Vegas! I'll be 50 in April and another friend who's turning 40 is also celebrating his birthday, so it will be lots of fun and partying. We have at least one nice dinner out, plus a show on a separate evening.

Unlike the Florida trip, which was all beach and kids, this is a chance to flaunt some fun looks. Here are three dress options for your review all worn with the Fauxstuds.

1. BR fringe dress. I kind of love this and think it would be right for the fancy steakhouse.

2. Cheapo Zara sack dress in desperate need of steaming out wrinkles. Yep, me in a sack. I got this last summer.

3. Emerson Frye fleuro dress (I exchanged for an XS which I think is much better).

What to bring? And how to style? Or just rock them as is? Do the shoes work for all of them? I don't have any other nice heels.

I like #1 for an evening outfit. The fringe would be so fun for dancing!

I would wear the black for the steakhouse. The black fringe looks perfect for adult night out in Vegas!

Really all are fab! The black fringe says Vegas to me, but also like the sack dress in pic 2.

Fringe and rockstuds for sure. That is outstanding on you. The other two are definitely cute, but strike me as pretty casual.....which is fine if that's the vibe of the place you're in . How cool will the fringe dress be w a leather or denim jacket too? I'd pack that, and then pants for the rest of the time....and maybe one of the other two dresses but probably not both.

I think all three dresses look great with the fauxstuds. I like the black for the fancy dinner - I think the fringe is super fun. The other two might look a little less casual if you added a sparkly necklace. Not sure you're into that though.

I like #1. We were in LV recently, and for some of the shows and nicer dinners at the nicer casinos, you'll want to wear something like #1. People dress up a little more at those kinds of places - especially on the Strip. During the day, and in Downtown LV, people are much more casual. We were there this last February and people were wearing jeans, shorts, skirts, casual tops or Ts.

Don't panic about dress code - I did - but even at the priciest restaurant we went to, people were dressed up and some men still dined with T Shirts.

Temps were in the low 70s and sunny.

I like 1 but I love 3. #2 is also real great on you....I'd say pack them all if you have luggage space. For #1, try different footwear and add a pretty scarf/necklace

Thanks for the help, ladies! It looks like any of them will work. Now the question is what kind of topper would be right for these sacky dresses? A/C in Vegas kills me every time!

I know how casual Vegas is but I don't get to dress up like this often.

Bonnie, thanks! I have all kinds of jackets and I am bringing my black lightweight cashmere poncho (many trips to Vegas have taught me that I will freeze indoors no matter how hot it is outside). The trouble with these dresses is how a topper will work with the volume. What's the point of the volume if I squish it with a fitted moto? But a shapeless jacket won't work either. Perhaps a shawl?

1 and 3. 3 fits well and looks easy to wear whenever. 1 also fits well and even as someone who's not particularly into fringe I think it really looks great with your hair. I loved the backdrop of the fur collar in your hair dye update photos.

Suz, no time left, alas! We leave tonight! I am bringing all three dresses and a black cashmere poncho (it's short and almost like a shawl). I have totally overpacked for 4.5 days, but I want options and it all still fits in a carryon because it's lightweight items. Will post pics of actually worn outfits in action!
