Imagine this with cute sparkly sandals and earrings for an outdoor Texas bbq.
I made it, and looooove the fabric, but have had 50/50 reaction. Does it look like pj’s? Just not sure. Thank you.

I love the top, the neckline, the sleeves look beautiful and very flattering. But paired with the shorts, I am getting a bit of a pjs vibe.
At the end of the day, though, what matters is how you feel about your outfit.

Yes and no. I think it’s ‘pj look’ as seen in magazines and quite glamorous as Angie says. It doesn’t look like it was made to be slept in. I like it! I’d wear it!

So what if it gives a PJ vibe? I'm the girl who has often thought satin PJs were perfectly elegant to wear to a club; with a sparkly sandal, it felt very studio 54.

It is all how you wear it!! I would try tucking or a semi tuck and accessorize as planned. Definitely dressier accessories rather than plain slides for example.

It is a lovely fabric and the shape is great.

I think that on its own, it has a bit of a PJs vibe, but if you pair it with some pieces of jewelry and the sparkly sandals you mentioned, and do your hair up neatly, and carry a nice bag, I think that will push the vibe out of the PJs area. It looks super comfy, and I love the pattern!

Kind of , but that’s a fashion look that’s trendy . You have to own it and just wear it if you are comfortable . Jewellery , a modern mule and bag will carry it a long way .

It looks good to me, but I enjoy the PJ’s vibe and happily wear my jumpsuit (in Finds). I have never had anyone make a negative comment about my jumpsuit, so I don’t think you need to worry.

I actually LOVE this. I think the pretty sleeve detail keeps it from PJ territory, not to mention the fabric choice. I think accessorizing it will help as well. Have you tried semi-tucking or fully tucking the top? Two piece romper, I say! FWIW, I'd wear it without a blink.

I am amazed how skilled you are, great set -especially love the sleeves on the top- and YLF in this. BUT I'll say it frankly I couldn't do them together for myself for the same fear to not look like PJ, but it surely is a trendy-fashionable fringe look! And believe fabric is doing a difference-that's a detail we cannot fathom. It also (and particular majority) depends on your self confidence wearing it and less (but still a thing to consider if you care) on your environment's afinity to fashion.

I agree with Rachy and Lisa's comments, and I also think these pieces would look terrific worn as separates with white bottoms or tops.

I think it is great for a BBQ in hot weather and the current “ reality”.
I have a true PJ top I am wearing as a regular shirt. The pants did not fit. If they had I don’t think I would wear out of house because the fabric is very thin and that plus the cut and drape of them would not look like “ pants” on me.
I agree the matchy part is what allows bit of PJ vibe. But it fits very well- often an issue with actual pj’s is that we get them to be loose and floppy and comfy and so lose all tailoring.
If your environmental norm were a high- stakes office party I might ( or might not) consider something different. But that would also eliminate a lot of more mainstream “ regular “ casual wear.
For myself I am more sensitive to fabric, quality and fit and proportions rather than an item or outfit’s provenance—meaning, wearing a poorly- fitting style of crops and T with unflattering proportions is not more fab just because it’s unlikely mistaken for pajamas!

I am not sure I have helped at all but the bottom line is, you can wear this!
