Do You wear socks with loafers?

I have a loafers that I can't wear at all because I don't like the look with socks and without it it gives me shoe bite. What do you ladies do

Low cut socks in a colour close to the colour of the shoe. I've seen some pretty patterned and lace socks that are supposed to show. That's a fun way to style it too.

I wear socks as rarely as possible. I don't like them. It has to be really cold before I would consider socks or hose.

I do what zoiechic said. No show Smart Wool. They stay on and have some warmth. Nude sheer knee highs also work. I also wear nude mini fish nets.

I have this dilemma too. I wear sheer anklets with them sometimes and I'd like to find more socks like that. But for some reason my no show socks fall off more in my loafers than my other shoes. I'm still seeking the right socks so I can wear my loafers more often.

like sterling, I wear socks as rarely as possible....but that being said, socks with loafers are definitely a thing

I have a similar problem to Greyscale, the socks don't stay on, even the SmartWool that Joy recommended.

Ditto what Joy posted....only I get these by hue. I like the rubber on the heel that keeps it from falling off.....

I have the Smart Wool Hide and Seek socks (zoiechic linked to--I think they are higher than those pictured in Joy's response). They aren't cheap, but they totally stay on with oxfords and booties and sneakers (I don't have loafers). If I wear proper socks that show, I usually use low contrast (e.g. grey ribbed socks with black booties and jeans).

Yes, the higher-cut Smartwool invisible socks are great, the only ones that (mostly) work for me. One advantage of Smartwool is that they come in different sizes. The small just barely fits me but it stays on better than the medium. Eventually my toenail cuts through though!

Maybe I'll wear my loafers today to try out sock options.

I've got some "loafer" no-show from smartwool, they come up higher on the foot; they stay on, but they do show a little depending on the loafer. It's tough! Socks are the most comfortable. I try to match the socks to my shoes (my loafers are brown, I have a pair of taupe socks I wear with them) if I go that route. I like idea of sheer socks also.

My feet blister like the dickens if I don't wear socks with my loafers & oxfords. So, I try to go for the menswear look of chic, fine cotton socks - never white, usually something like gray or navy blue or brown, depending on what I'm wearing - if I wear them with pants. If I'm wearing a skirt or dress, I sigh and accept the blisters or I find some other kind of shoe to wear (but, pretty much everything gives me blisters if I don't have hose or socks on).

I wear sheer knee high's or the no show socks. I hate going without socks. I find the no show Hues with the silicone/rubber heel slip, so I like the smart wool. I love the idea of lace socks. I think I'm going to get a pair. Glad I read this post! Good question.

I'm like Smittie - mostly no socks. I just cannot get comfortable in no-show socks; plus they don't like to stay on my feet. (I do air out my shoes frequently.) I don't really feel that I can pull off anklets with loafers at my age.

I currently don't have loafers for this reason.

I would wear pop socks/knee highs in winter with trousers/jeans/pants. In spring or summer I do prefer the look with bare feet but in the past have found this uncomfortable.

While my feet are easy to fit they are very blister prone, and after getting an infected blister about five years ago I am super cautious about them. I was almost admitted to hospital and did end up on antibiotics.

If wearing full-length pants, I usually wear socks with loafers. Cotton or bamboo in spring and summer. Thin wool in fall and winter. I wear real ankle socks, as I often feel cold around my ankles without them. I don't like the look and feel of low-cut socks and "no show socks" (which often happen to show anyway ).

If wearing skirts or short pants, I will either wear no socks/hosiery at all, or wear sheer, nude or semi-opaque hosiery, depending of the season and temperature.

If i did this I would feel like I was in a 40"S movie,,women wore socks hose (they were silk then, form Japan) were not available. They wore socks with everything, including heels.

Teen agers, both boys and girls wore socks-white ones -with loafers in the 50's. So this look just doesn't feel right with me. those little no show socks mostly show with the cut of most loafers.

If I were young and did not remember the 50"S I think socks that show would be a cute look.
