Do you like or wear yellow?

Yellow is not a colour I have worn before. Strangely I seem to be attracted to it, I think I will blame Angie for her beautiful lemon printed jeans that got me thinking about yellow.

I saw this handbag, which comes in a great range of colours and I was surprised to find myself attracted to the yellow bag. I have a few items in my wardrobe that have yellow in the print, but no solid yellow items. I fear yellow a bit, as I don't want to look like Big Bird!

Is yellow a colour that that you would wear?

Bijou - I can only remember two yellow articles of clothing I’ve had and loved. It’s not a color that generally works on me, but there have been rare exceptions. I’d be open to the right shade. The only color I’ve probably worn less of is orange, which I am not open to unless it’s skews much more into coral.

I’ve recently considered this handbag, which I think would work with my wardrobe. In part due to all the navy and blue in my closet.

I mostly avoid it because of my complexion, but I remember a beloved yellow maternity top that made me feel angelic (a feat, when you're that big and round-bellied) and also a yellow cardigan from post-college that I loved (and I changed the buttons to green, you know, because). So it tells me that it's possible to find just the right yellow.

Yellow isn’t the best for my complexion, but I always consider it for accessories, and love having a bit of yellow in a print. Like others, I’m definitely not opposed to it, as long as it’s the right shade.

As for the bag, I love the deeper pink/rose one. It looks luxurious.

I've been shopping for a new bag the last few weeks and keep finding myself inexplicably drawn to a bag the same yellow shade as the one you've linked to. I remember the same experience last spring. I guess I want to wear the daffodils . I only have a single purse at a time so I keep mentally pushing the yellow aside for a neutral but if I were more of a purse girl I would own it by now. I don't wear any other yellow, although I did put a yellow tweed Moto in finds yesterday...

There is no longer any yellow in my closet, but back when I first joined YLF I had a mini capsule. I especially liked the sandals! I agree with delurked - the bag would be brilliant as an accessory to a blue and white outfit.

I LOVE pale yellow - it's arguably my favourite color with forest green.
But I have only one yellow wardrobe item (a blouse) : yellow pieces are scarce, and not all yellows look nice with my complexion.

I've been looking for a yellow blazer and a yellow handbag for a while but still haven't found the perfect ones. Needless to say, if I had to choose among the bags you listed in this post, I would definitely take the yellow one.

I like it but on others. The only way it shows up in my wardrobe is in a print that incorporates other colors that look better on me. I will enjoy seeing it on other people! I had a yellow bag and yellow slingback peep toes about ten years ago that I wore with a blue and white dress, but passed those along because even yellow shoes do nothing for my complexion.

I like the idea of a yellow bag if you do yellow in a print. I'm less fond of yellow bag with solid yellow items (feels a little too obviously matchy), but that's my personal taste.

I LOVE to wear yellow. I love citron, chartreuse, neon lime, and a crisp yellow. Don't do mustard or pastel lemon.

Angie - you have the best collection of yellow pieces! I love the sourness in your bright yellows, I think these colours could work for me too. Yellow, ink and white is so fresh and happy.

Delurked - that is a great bag.

Lesley - I think yellow can be tricky to find the shade that works well on us. Mustard is unflattering on me.

Kathie - the deep pink bag is a pretty colour. I love that one too.

Carla - If yellow is not for you, it is good to stick with colours that work.

Sisi - I think the yellow bag could be good because it would look good with items that have a touch of yellow in the print.

I haven't had much yellow but have loved it and hope to find my best yellow. The bag is a great way to start. I have a small mustard yellow cross body bag but want to find something larger.
Yellow pants are wonderful too. I really want to find yellow crops for summer.

Of the bags you have pictured, I would choose 5, the soft pink one. I have a few pink items. I started a pink capsule from scratch last year, with a few toppers, tops, hats, etc. I was attracted to pale pink and hadn’t worn it since my mother chose my clothes!

If you’re attracted to the yellow bag, maybe you should get it. If it were me, I would tie it in to the rest of my outfit with a scarf with some yellow in it.

I don’t wear yellow at all, put several seasons ago had a taxicab yellow bag that I loved to carry in summer. That was a point in time where carrying a bright contrasting bag was particilarly “in”, but it did work brilliantly with blue, white, green, etc.
Honestly, I like that bag in every color - the retro bamboo handle is so fun!

I am really drawn to yellow but it doesn't complement my complexion. I'm open to a bag or shoes which I think would look good with my blue heavy wardrobe.

As a direct consequence of Angie's influence, I added yellow to my wardrobe for the first time in 2017. I cannot tell you how overwhelmingly positive the response was. I came to love it for both the added interest and mood elevating effect.

I'm particular about the shade, but I do like yellow and have had bits and pieces of it over the years. One that stands out in my mind was a soft, crinkly patent mustardy yellow bag with gold chain handles.....wore it during the summer months and always got comments on it. Pale yellow with denim is pretty in summer too...

Bijou, PERFECT with your dress. Maybe you need a yellow scarf to go with the bag?

I wear yellow with: white, navy, ink blue, denim blue, black, blush, orange, peach, light blue, tomato red, turquoise, watermelon, coral, shocking pink, sea foam, olive and burgundy. There. That's everything in my wardrobe. It's a statement neutral.

See the next comment, please. Sorry for posting nearly the same comment twice. That's what happened when you'reach sitting outside the house, enjoying one of the first real spring days and getting nearly blinded by the strong (yellow!) sunshine.

I like yellow, but am very picky about the shade. My colouring is very cool, and most yellows don't look great on me. However, I have found that light lemon yellow can work for me. I own only a few yellow items, one of them actually being a bag which brings me much joy in spring, summer and fall. I don't use it in winter, simply because it looks too delicate with my winter wardrobe.

I love yellow. Love it. And decorate with lots of it. It makes me happy.

Alas, it does not look good on me. So I don't wear it. Except for bags or footwear. I had a yellow bag shortly after I joined YLF that I wore into the ground. It works with blues really well and since the majority of my wardrobe is blue, it was a slam dunk.

I like yellow. I can't wear yellow. Love to see it on others, especially after a long winter. I have one golden yellow clutch; like it as accent, but don't reach for it very often. I would consider a bright yellow bag, because as Suz says, it plays well with blue.

I like yellow as a color, but I don’t wear it. Even if I wore color more, it’s generally a bad match with my skin. My first drivers license and my college ID both showed me in a pale yellow top and I really regretted those choices!

I do love neon lime green / citron as an accent color, but I tend towards the more green rather than the more yellow side. In Angie’s post today, the yellow-green J Crew peacoat appealed to me much more than the others.

I really like yellow ,in fact my bedroom is yellow,but I rarely wear it as I have yellow hair and yellows sort of clash with it.I don’t think all blondes are excluded from wearing yellow ,if you have very pale blonde hair/platinum I think it looks really good but I m a sort of mid gold blonde which fights with a lot of yellows.l likeseeing it on others though as it is such a happy colour.I think buying a bag is an excellent way to feel your way into owning yellow things.
