do these shoes make me look like a giant toddler?

These are boring casual outfits that normally I would not post, but I want feedback on these shoes. They are navy Dansko Veda, bought last fall to be my everyday run around shoes, but I haven't worn them much b/c I feel like they make me look like giant toddler. Now I like (prefer, even) big, clunky shoes (being a big clunky person) - but ... these make me feel quite self-conscious about my feet. Feedback please?

I think they look unbelievably awesome on you! No toddler vibe at all. But a modern, chic, fashionable vibe? Definitely.

I don't think they're toddlerish. I like them! I think they look especially great with the rolled jeans in #3. I would love to see them with some white in your outfit, either top or bottoms.

I like them! I like them better with the bold color blocked outfits (especially ones with black, navy and/or white) than the outfits with more subtle colors and patterns where there is more of a vibe contrast.

I looked at some very close at the mall today...Since I have bought 3 new pair of run about summer shoes this spring, I made my sorry self leave the cute sneakers alone...But...they look super cute on you...No toddler vibe...What don't you like about them?...Maybe the outfits are not framing the shoes?...
You have to be happy with them but for me, they are cute...

I'm biased because I have a pair of Vedas (in black) and like them. They don't make you look toddlerish at all. I like them best with your rolled jeans and with your sportier tops. Not sure they quite match the vibe of your floatier watercolor tops. Maybe try them with no-show socks?

I'll echo danskogirl and vote to wear with no-show socks. I think they are cute, not toddler-ish, and like them best with the darker pants and blue denim.

Having a toddler, I can promise they do not look toddlerish. They do drape the eye, however, perhaps that is what you are noticing. Honestly, they remind me a bit of my Chucks.

I had trouble with my Chucks until I learned to repeat the white a little in my outfits. Then I loved them.

I have them in black. I thought they would look like Chucks too, as many have said. I find them too hard to use for much, but when I don't have to walk a lot I think they are cute.

I wonder if the outfits needs to be a little more purposeful? The shoes are so striking it seems like they don't quite work as a "go with everything" shoe.

I have the Vedas in both black and taupe so I'm biased. I find the black Vedas work best in tomboyish outfits that somewhat repeat the lacing pattern (like stripes). I wear SmartWool low cut socks with them since they don't show and my tennie socks show.

I think they're fun and work especially well if you use them to colour block. I agree that they don't work as well with the floaty tops. Go graphic!

Thanks for the feedback everyone. It would never ever would have occurred to me to use that big white sole as styling element. Tomorrow I will play around and see if I can come up with some outfits that incorporate it as several of you suggested. I don't have any striped breton tops, so I'll have to see what I can manage.

Mo has them. I think they are cute and perfectly fine, although I prefer other sneaker looks. They really work with your outfits here.

Heh, I do have them - guilty as charged! I see them as a wedge Converse mutation in my mind lol. And, yes, I bought them for work and they did/do a great job of keeping my feet in good shape after hours of being on them. To me they are my version of a more fashionable uniform option than straight up clogs.
To answer your question, no you do not look like a big toddler LOL!

No toddler vibe at all to me. I flipped through the photos and thought they look very cool in a funky way. I love them with the rolled jeans. They look like an over-the-top take on the sneaker trend. I'd echo others' idea of trying them with no-show socks. I also think with the shorter pants, they look best with the ones that are closer to the knee, rolled just below the knee, rather than capris. (I like them in 5 better than 6. ) Hope you'll wear them with more confidence now.

They look fab on you! And I agree with opinions above - with cropped / rolled pants they look stylish. And I also agree with Suz & Liz that the outfits need to be more purposeful.

I like them and I think they are a cool and practical shoe. The thought of a giant toddler does make me giggle! You look fab.

I see what you mean but I would have never thought you looked like a toddler if I saw you on the street! I think I had a pair like that in the 90s, but I never wore them because I felt like I had clown feet. They are ok, but they only go with certain things. They might go well with some bootcut jeans too. But not with a dress or shorts (IMHO)!

I agree with, don't fight the white, echo or bookend it--and balancing the chunky look with the bright colors a nd more balanced volume. It is not a go with everything shoe as noted, but pick your several best " looks" for these and have some great casual outfits.
