What a cool set of comments from some of the forum’s coolest & most playful dressers! I’ll go add Pippi Longstocking to my fashion icons
Bridgie, thanks for breaking the dam and being the first commenter. I was nervous posting the maternity dresses, so hit “refresh” way more than I’d like to admit, until you commented.
Sally, come on in, the water’s fine. I wouldn’t suggest buying maternity clothes at menopause time, but your kids are younger than mine, so maybe you still have the clothes around too. Oddly, I was not drawn to these when I was overweight. Losing it makes things look/feel different, you know?
Nikki, your own outfits are always so playful and fun. I’m glad you recognized like in these. The water shots are of the Mühlendamm locks, one of the oldest parts of Berlin, and Jannowitz bridge, a couple hundreds yard up the Spree River.
CarolS, I’m glad you like the outfits—and relieved to hear someone say outright that the original purpose of the dresses isn’t immediately obvious.
Sarah & Brooklyn, thanks for the styling suggestions. I’m not sure the leopard jacket adds more structure than the suede one in 2A, but I will try taking the attached belt a bit more seriously to add a little more structure that way. In these pix, it’s tied extremely loosely. The yellow dress is a pinafore, so no sleeves to push up, but I’ll try layering under to let some structure be seen.
Synne and Katerina, cool that you like the yellow dress and the pants outfit, respectively, because I suspected you might like those as I put those pix up.
Synne, Emmylou Harris, eh? I love her “Trio” recording with Dolly Parton and Linda Ronstadt, but will have to look up her look.
Katerina, I love that your color challenge is still percolating in the forum. Not sure I’ll get to it, because next week will be fall shorts & tights week for me, but I’m watching & appreciating from afar.
