Do I look like a cupcake

My oldest daughter says this outfit looks like a cupcake. I can go change at lunch if is that bad. I am not sure where she is getting cupcake.

I don't think it is bad. Maybe she thinks the ruffles on the shirt look like piped icing? Mmm. now I am hungry for cake.

It's a great outfit. Skinnies, flats, jacket all amazing. I'd try swapping out the shirt next time but just for variety - it'd be a whole 'nother outfit.

Ah, loved ones! This is not at all what came to mind with "cupcake," ha. Leathery baked goods, ummm.

Agree that she can't handle the ruffles even though they are seriously tamed by the jacket.

With your long lean legs highlighted so nicely in that outfit, sass her a bit and say you're channeling one of those party drink accessories -- slim stem and a frilly paper umbrella up top.

No! I think it's very flattering. The ruffles are cute and pretty, and the leather jacket over them gives it a bit of edge. Those skinnys are great too.

My self esteem would be in the gutter if my daughter was who I went to for opinions on my style. I am not a glutton for punishment and don't even ask her. My sons actually tell me things and are so nice! My relationship with my daughter depends on me not asking. We just agree not to go there! Now shoes and boots that we agree on and are going for shoe therapy tomorrow since she is home for Fall Break from her senior year of college.

Love the mix of feminine and masculine with ruffles and leather. You rock!

Well, I had to look for it, but I have worked out the red velvet cupcake thing with cream cheese icing. It's got to be cream cheese, right?

While, I'm here though, it's occurred to me the ruffled top would be slick with a sharply tailored skirt or slacks.

When I think "cupcake" I was thinking muffin top with additional frou frou.

That being said - NO you don't look like a cupcake Do you normally wear a lot of ruffles? Maybe your daughter is not used to seeing you with a ruffly top?

It must be the ruffles she is referring to. They do look like yummy icing on a tiered cake. I think the outfit looks nice. If you feel fab, wear it with pride.
