I just discovered this a week ago--I used to read them all the time and enjoyed it. I slowed down because I spend so much time at YLF. Sorry they have stopped.

Yes, I noticed it. My guess is that with babies and the need to finish their dissertations and get jobs (for three of them; the newest fourth member was a high school teacher, I believe), they decided it was time to shift gears :).

Aww. I had fallen out of the habit because they were rarely a quick read, but whenever I took the time I enjoyed them.

It seemed that their plates were pretty full IRL.

Yeah, I figure with babies and dissertations and job hunts something probably had to give. I couldn't really relate to either their lives or their fashion, but I enjoyed it when I happened to stop by!

Yes, I was very sad. I will miss them a lot. This seems to happen often with the academic style blogs (Scholar Style Guide and Fashionable Academics have both been closed for a while too) since understandably there is a lot on these ladies' plates, but I am still sad not to have their excellent posts anymore.

I'm happy they all seem to be in good places in their lives and need more time but selfishly wishing they'd still blog!

Their "color tutorials" and proportion exercises were among my favorites, and the more serious discussions were often so interesting (even if they made me realize how intellectually lazy I've become, ha!).

Yes! I'm so sad, but glad that they ended it beautifully. Academichic was my first fashion blog (I found it months before YLF) and will always hold a special place in my heart.
