Years ago I had a workout partner who had a problem. A friend of hers was buying all of her clothes. Not *her* clothes, of course, but the same ones. My friend would wear something new, and the next week the other friend would be wearing it. My friend was really tired of it and didn't know how to stop it. It's a little awkward to tell someone what not to buy.
Most of us avoid scenarios like this by trying not to be too obvious or frequent about how we copy others we know.
But youlookfab is different! Here we ask each other all the time where we got something and then we pounce. We proudly proclaim ourselves as lemmings, post pictures to prove it, and *wave to our skirt twins*. Obviously this has a lot to do with geographical placement. If Suz buys the belt I wore today, we'll probably never be seen together in it. We don't even live in the same country!
So the fact that on the Forum our purchases are directly inspired by each other's doesn't seem to matter, when otherwise it probably would.
So.... what is this like for you? How comfortable are you with the culture of cross-pollination we have here? Does it ever feel strange or unwelcome even though you know someone's far away? Is it pure fun? And Angie, don't answer this, but I sometimes wonder if it's ever a little difficult for you that we copy every move you make!
