I’m calling this post “colour” because there is very little black and white in these outfits.
Since Angie crowned me Queen Beads, I have made a feature of showing some of my necklaces. I love beads and feel they are a highly underrated accessory.
All of these outfits were daytime outfits. I’ve included the maximum daytime temperature for each, just for interest. After a warmer than usual start, Spring has settled into more expected temperatures.
Pic 2-3: (28C) This outfit was inspired by pic 1, which I love. I was trying to get a graduation of blue-green colours, with patina and warm copper accents, as in the picture. Green top, teal bag, turquoise necklace. The top is DIY dye (colour: RIT verdigris). The sandals are DIY metallic (Tarrago old gold). The necklace is from Etsy.
Pic 6-7: (24C) For this outfit, I wore an olive green mesh top over a teal tank top. The mesh top is a lightweight cotton, with an unfinished edge. I quite like that, but I know many don’t! As usual, I like the pattern and texture the 2 layered tops create. And in this case the bands of the teal top created a nice border for the mesh top. The necklace is from Etsy. It’s a bit asymmetrical but that’s what you get sometimes with a hand made item.
Pic 8: Moroccan decor seems to favour a combination of warm spicy colours, like deep red, fuchsia, eggplant, copper, orange, gold. I been trying out some similar combinations.
Pic 9: (23C) I wore a linen top unbuttoned (except at the neck) and wrapped in a crossover style over my front. The belt holds everything together. The pink bag was given to me. It’s not a colour I would choose for myself but I liked it in this warm spicy combination.
Pic 10: (27C) A morning walk and coffee outfit (hat + sunnies not shown). The top is DIY dye. I took up Angie’s suggestion to try gladiator sandals for walking. I’m having lots of trouble with my feet. These are very comfortable. Thanks for the tip Angie
Pic 11: (32C) Similar combination to no 9 on a warmer day. I’ve had the bracelet for years. I’ve always been attracted to jewellery that uses agate. But I rarely wear it because it’s quite the statement. A weapon almost! The purple beads are part of a 2 strand set made by an Etsy seller. The bronze multi strand beads are thrifted. The bronze beads are a useful neutral underlayer to any long coloured strand of beads.
Pic 14-15: (27C) I’m really into mustard/olive tones ATM. The open knit top is a DIY dye. The brownish-olive colour is very hard to achieve (it took 2 attempts). I wore a tan top underneath it to make the pattern pop. The olive sling bag can be worn crossbody or converted to a backpack. Love that.
Pic 17: (27C) I found one of the items on my Spring/Summer shopping list: wide leg rust coloured pants. They have a pinstripe and a crinkled effect. I was unsure about the crinkles at first but I’m happy with them now. The pants are a little too big around the waist, but I might leave them that way because I like slouch. Dark gold bag and DIY metallic sandals (Tarrago). The necklace is Chloe, a gift from my DH. Don’t tell him but I like my thrifted beads just as much
