AG, I didn't wear blazers in NYC either. I don't know why I like them so much.

Cicele, because I own them. Seems silly to own something that I don't wear, and I love the idea of them.

Of course Austin summer is not the time to wear blazers period. But really blazers was just an example. I dress very casually, overall. It doesn't seem to have hurt my career. I just wonder if I missed some cue, like the rule that my pants need to be X length.

Ah...blazers. Well, you and I have the same problem.

I love them and haven't been wearing them either, for weather-related reasons and work-life related reasons. I mean, when it's so cold that only layered knits will do, only layered knits will do! And when you work at home, a blazer provides more structure than is really comfortable or needed.

So...I don't know. I have just reconciled myself that I WILL still buy them and will wear them on my big-city jaunts....because I love them so. Which sort of goes to Anna's thread about practicality vs. love of something. I am pretty much in your camp -- function is part of high happiness factor for me. But when it comes to jackets, I just can't help but love them, whether I need them or not.
