Day 3 - I decided to wear one of my YLF approved dress and boots outfits and I added a scarf as my topper.
This scarf is old, purchased about 7 years ago and is something that I love because it has Olive Oil from Popeye on it. I like the colour and the softness on this scarf too and it is my travelling companion. I love to wear it when on airplanes, so whenever I wear it, I am reminded of travelling.
Currently the temperature outside is warm to hot - today's maximum was 30C, but in the office that I work in, the air conditioning can be cold, especially when I am just working at my desk.
Usually I would wear a cropped jacket with this, but today decided to wear my woollen red scarf / wrap instead. When the air-conditioning went freezing, I was literally rugged up!
Photo 1, is of the dress and scarf worn for less warmth and Photo 2 is wrapped up.
Dress - bought in Japan last year
Boots - old but by XSA
Scarf - old - Moschino Cheap and Chic
Bag - Leowolf leopard print
Day 4 - Today
Friday is casual dress day at work so I could wear jeans to work. I really love my Skull Scarf, but I am much less hard edge these days than when I bought this scarf. So the solution was to add pearls.
I felt fab in this, because pearls and a scarf reminded me of Angie and given the 12th Anniversary of YLF, I needed to add an element of Angie into today's ensemble. In addition, because my husband LOVES this scarf, well I had to include it in the challenge.
Photo 1, close up of scarf and pearls, outfit in full length (blurry photo - apologies) and without scarf, which is how I would normally wear this. I liked the scarf addition more than without it, but would be interested to see if you agree.
Jeans - JBrand coated skinny jeans
Blush pink top - old
Boots - old
Scarf - Alexander McQueen
Bag - Samantha Thavasa - old
Added Day 5 (photo 6)
A day of helping to clear out my Dad's house, as he has moved. The twin scarf to Day 2 - this one is dark teal and black and grey leopard print and I tied it in a triangle at the front. Worn with denim skirt, chunky silver and leather belt, black shirt and boots. Not an exciting outfit, but practical, because I was cleaning out cupboards and moving furniture etc. The benefit of the scarf is that it added a nice colour (teal) next to my face which broke up the severe black shirt and dark column of colour.
Denim skirt - Mother
Shirt - Cue (old)
Boots - Paul Green
Scarf - Roberto Cavalli
Bag - same as Day 4
Challenge Ended!
I must say there is a sense of relief that tomorrow I will not be wearing a scarf. This challenge helped me to see that scarves can be worn for most activities - even cleaning out my Dad's house. The addition of a scarf is a nice touch, it can add warmth, tie the colours in an outfit together, add an element of edge to a look or even put a nice colour next to my face.
