Day 2 :: This Time Last Year I Wore (edition 2014)

Day 2 of the series I started yesterday, looking back at what I wore and how the same outfit idea inspired what I'd wear today.

I am very emotional about the outfit from 2011. This is when a colleague at work commented that I looked very French. I guess stripes have that effects It felt extra good because I thought that all the tips and ideas gathered from YLF started to fall into place.

The outfit from 2012 is what I would wear today too, but I wanted to step away a little bit and use it as inspiration only.

And so, today I wore the main two elements from previous outfits - red colour and stripes, based around the black column, an obvious favourite following the previous week's Column of Colour challenge I did.

Thank you for your time and all your comments the day before, they are kind and insightful. Sorry I didn't have time to respond in much detail. I hope today's contribution gives some food for thought too.

Sunee :: interesting suggestion, but I'm a bit over the thin belts at the moment. I pull them out occasionally, but end up wearing them 1 times out of 5. They rarely work for me the way I want them these days. Evolution of some sort But, never say never...

Neel :: I no longer wear the cardigan from #1. I loved it, but it's too deep V-neck which is not very flattering on me and I always needed tissue thin underlayer, of which I don't have many.

It's so interesting to see how your style has evolved over the last few years. All three of these outfits have the same elements but they are combined in slightly different ways. I think you look great in all three, but really like today's outfit with the small pops of color and pattern.

I like all 3 but I do see a more minimal style in today's look, a shift from bold stripe, to bold color, to just a hint of both. A nice transition.

This is such a clever idea! I like all the outfits a lot, but the current one definitely stands out as looking the most unique and most refined. It's almost like the color and stripe are being used as punctuation here.

Wow, I missed this one:-(. And you didn't dissapoint at all! Colored thights are your signature look once again and this outfit is another bold statement to my eyes! I can clearly see your love for classic stripes surviving all the trends through the years passed. I like that french outfit very much, no wonder you got compliments on it in 2011, are you not feelin' wearing it again??

I see 2012 was the year of the longer length cascade cardis for both of us!:-) I had some, too, and still love them, but hadn't wore them at all this year. Instead, I felt much more love for a shorter length one, which then stood 2 years in my closet unworn and only came out this fall for a few occasions.

Now, can't wait to see today's outfit evolution.
