This week for my “singles bubble” lockdown lunch with my mum, I wore a dark floral dress that I bought in Autumn.
As the dress is not that warm, and my mum’s house is always cold, I layered it over an old DVF knit dress. It’s a fairly body con sheath style that I don’t wear much anymore, but it makes a nice layering piece. It has very long sleeves, so I turned back the cuffs to make them look more integrated with the shirt dress.
Another Autumn/Winter purchase was a dark floral coat. It’s a medium weight brocade. I was very attracted to the length (which is not well represented in my wardrobe) as well as the dark floral pattern (which is). I usually wear shorter jackets with my midi skirts and I thought a “long on long” look would be a nice change in silhouette for me.
The dark floral pattern of the coat is similar to the dress, so of course I HAD to go for the double.
I teamed it with a See by Chloe bag that was an anniversary gift from my husband. It’s lovely but a little small.
I needed another bag to carry wine (necessary) and an umbrella (might be necessary). So I went for more dark floral and took my Herschel backpack (a bit matchy) and Mimco dark floral umbrella (not quite so matchy).
The abundance of dark floral made me happy. Does anyone else overload on a particular pattern?
