Dangly earrings and longer hair

The gray Nic & Zoe sweater found its accompanying items: black pants (NYDJ) to match the black trim, a dark cherry (?) J Crew sweater jacket, and those nearly matching Ecco sneakers.

My friend gave me these Swarovski crystal earrings for Christmas and I haven't yet worn them. It's hard to see all the colors in a photo.

I was going to wear a DY ring that I bought to wear when I travel out of the US, and remembered I have a similar one bought a long time ago. I've worn it a lot on the right hand but today my knuckles are a bit swollen. I ended up with the black coral ring I bought in Hawaii and that matches the earrings already shown a week ago.

And I end up with a long necklace from some time ago worn layered with others. I believe I made it myself. I've been collecting jewelry for a long time.

So what do you do with long dangly earrings when you hair gets longer in lockdown? DH hates my hair behind my ears. I haven't tried an updo for years and would need help. Just let the earrings sparkle among locks of hair? I have other earrings that do show up because they are much lighter in color.

I actually prefer longer hair for the odd time I wear longer earrings. I like the effect of them being partially hidden. These are perfect for that, the shine will come through:-)

I like that your shoes pick up the colour of your cardigan, it all looks so complete. Your childhood photo is priceless. It must have amused the adults in your life to see you accessorize!

Thank you Angie and Tina. I get frustrated when I can't see the earrings in the mirror--guess I should take a video.

Tina, I also made necklaces out of chestnuts. A neighbor a couple of doors down the street had a big old chestnut tree. When the chestnuts were ripe we'd go and pick up her chestnuts when she wasn't around. For some reason I was terrified of her--we called her place The Old Maid's house. I'd drill holes with my Dad's tools--not sure what--and then string them on an old shoelace. Very fashion forward.

ETA I think many of us had neighbours that we were afraid of- I know we had one man in our neighbourhood that we were terrified of, not that he ever did anything but we sure were convinced he would:-/

I've almost always worn dangly earrings, whether my hair was halfway down my back or just shoulder length like now. Never thought anything of it!

Swarovski crystal earrings look fab on you! I have some dangly earrings but fell in love with "ear crawlers" type of earrings and almost stop wearing anything else. I agree with @Tina on long earrings.
Pretty nails - just reminded me that I need to work on mine .

This is a fascinating question. My hair is long so I CAN put it up. I never wear it just down. It has to be at least half up. My hair would get caught in dangly earrings if left down. Your hair falls neatly though...

I really don’t like wearing things that DH doesn’t like so I sympathise.

It might sound absurd but I wondered whether a very loosely tied pony tail or a couple of side clips might work?

If my hair gets long I just let dangly earrings peek out when I move my head. The earrings are very pretty and look like they will brighten any outfit.

When my hair was longer I stopped wearing earrings altogether. Now my hair is short and I love earrings. I don’t see why you can’t put your hair behind your ears.

Have you thought about a half up-do? I'll usually leave a few strands in front so my face doesn't look so bare - it may be an option to please both you & DH
