Yes! I went outside and walked the neighborhood looking like this. Hehe. I think at 44, I'm probably too old to be wearing this Shirley Temple look - even if it's Evil Shirley Temple. I mean we're talking ruffles. Plus, my neighbor thinks it looks too big (doesn't show my shape).

But I think I will go with it another season, so long as 20-year-olds are still hitting up on me and DD says, "What's wrong with it? Just iron it."

Haha. Like that's gonna happen.

I think I'll download some electronica...

You look fun to me and it's hard to argue with the neighborhood twentysomethings. Evil Shirley Temple = Baby Jane? Is that Lilypup on the floor behind you?

Haha, pil, that IS Lilypup. I didn't know she snuck in like that.

Also, you're right: Evil Shirley Temple IS Baby Jane. I have to watch out for that. I really liked bows, ruffles, and puff sleeves. Tried to purge, but there's stuff still lurking.

I think the boots save it from being too Baby Jane. Plus it's navy, a decidedly grown-up color.

OT: I have to tell y'all, yesterday was the perfect Fall day. Sunny, hot even, with a blustery wind. It's too bad there are no Woolworths anymore. It would have been the perfect day to pull on your hat and gloves and go have a grilled cheese at the Woolworth lunch counter with your husband on his lunch break... A Doris Day movie all around.

As for hating to iron, I just got myself a little handheld steamer that works like a charm on practically everything. You might want to consider it!

Nancy - What kind of steamer did you get? If it's less fuss, maybe I could manage steaming. That's a good idea.

cobalt - Lol. She does have *opinions.* But I actually asked her if she thought I should give it away. One day we should get a tourist to photograph us. We're both Bay Area natives and dress exactly alike - *like* point-and-laugh alike - so I trust her judgement... in matters of dubious fashion ;>

It might be a little bit of a hassle to use it to steam out an entire dress, but it works great on shirts and blouses. Super fast!

And it takes tap water, too. A lot of them require distilled water. Really...who can be bothered with that?

Denise, no doubt the only way I get away with these things is that I'm clearly whackadoodle, so whackadoodle it is. I can't imagine why that guy came over to me when I was dressed like this otherwise. Would you? Lololol.

I should count my blessings, I think, Anna. I think missed the baby doll drop-off by a hair. I thought about it.

Tex, maybe maybe. But I'd give my mom a hard time if she dressed like I do. Hehe. But interesting, Country Punk *is* kinda Rockabilly. I was wondering if I should amend to Countryside Punk, so people wouldn't wonder where the cowboy hat was...
