Not only do you know that striped tops work for you, you know what kind of striped top works for you.
And, while you may have preppy tendencies, I think this kind of top can span style boundaries. When Kurt Cobain, Ines de la Fressange, Picasso, and Kate Middleton all wear the same striped top, you know you have something.
(And yes, this was on my essentials list, as well!)
I need to take a picture of the side of my closet that has all the striped tops hanging together. It makes me happy to look at it. And I think I may need just a couple more.
It looks like you might have a problem dressing without stripes. I love stripes, too, but don't have nearly that many. I agree with Jenn, though. I think they're classic, not preppy.
I own a similar number of these jerseys (and a dress) in the same mix of navy-on-white and white-on-navy cottons. My daughter can't resist them either, and we're drawn to the same pieces when shopping. As far as I'm concerned, marineres require no defense--in any number! Do you find the LLBean shirt comfortable, not too heavy or stiff? I like the way it looks.
Tulle, the LLBean shirt is-- for me -- more of an in-between item. With a cami layered underneath, it is a top for spring (but never summer) weather. But it's also good in summer over a tee or a woven top as a light sweater to ward against blasting AC. In other words, it's heavier than a t-shirt (or, at least, my old one is -- not sure if the new version is the same), yet I wouldn't exactly call it a sweater for early spring. Sometimes I layer a sweater or jacket over it in earlier spring. It's quite large fitting, on me, and fluid; I can semi tuck it even though it is heavier weight than a tee, unlike some similar items. In short, I find it extremely versatile.

What a great collection, definitely signature and not a rut. You have a high degree of wardrobe awareness so you'd know if you were feeling in a rut...and it does not seem that you are. The queen of stripes indeed!
I love stripes. I once found myself in a striped shirt with a chunky jewel necklace, and, in response to a puzzled look from my friend, described the look as "nautical glam".
