Copycat Challenge: Day 3-J's Everyday

I chose this outfit from J's Everyday Fashion because I had the colors to make it happen, reworking it for my casual style! I must say these colors aren't my favorite together, and I feel better limiting the colorful pieces to two, but I guess that's why they call it a "challenge", right?

Which shoes do you like best, #1 are my new Aldo booties and #2 are my two tone oxfords?

WOW! I'm speechless. I love the colors! I like it better with the oxfords in #3 - I think it's enough that the belt picks up the color of the bag and the oxfords are more interesting to my eye.

I love the colors together ! In fact, I wanted to copy that look but didn't have the right blue top!

I wonder though... are your pants quite long enough for those fab shoes?

Mary, I'm busted! Hoping they didn't look too short but the pictures tell a different story. Perhaps it's time to invest in longer burgundy pants, no?

Wow, you did that perfectly! I think the Aldo shoes hit the inspiration a little more, but it doesn't have to be exactly the same, and I LOVE the oxfords. They make it a little more stylish IMO.

Those colours are gorgeous on you, Carole. Just lovely. I prefer it with the booties. Is there a seam allowance in those pants? Maybe you can just let them out a bit.

Thanks, everyone. I did loosen up my belt a notch or two, I think that has helped the look a little. I've lost 7 lbs (little happy dance) and things are getting baggy. Time to go shopping, I guess.

Maybe only thing i'd say is add a necklace to break the ice between your stunning one toned pieces.. but, great outfit!

Wonderful outfit, these colors are so unexpected yet go so well together. I prefer the shoes in #2 because they really tie in the belt and are a nice neutral for this colored look.

I like these colours together -- on paper it doesn't look like it would work but with your colouring it fits perfectly. I like the Aldo booties better.

FWIW I prefer the boots over the oxfords but that's just me, I'm not used to the look of oxfords yet.

The colors are wonderful in this outfit. I love your wingtips and your purse! I have always loved mustard and burgundy together the blue just takes it to another place. I love it!

Update on the pants, I did loosen up 2 notches in my belt which was hiking my pants to an unacceptable pant length. My pants are getting loose and while that's a good thing it does present a problem since pants with a long enough inseam is a real challenge. Skinnies are no problem, but anything else takes forEVER.

I like the two-tone best because they have more texture. Way to go! I love this color scheme and I like how you've sort of taken the colors but the vibe is more menswear.

Thanks Jenava, my outfit is sort of menswearish isn't it!That's probably why I wouldn't ordinarily put these things together.

Shevia, good luck with finding burgundy jeans. Let me know if you are successful, mine are becoming rather ill fitting and I would like an upgrade:)
