I quite liked the WHBM dress that Janet posted about here:
https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....midi-dress
I’ve got an event this summer for which it might be perfect, so I decided to order a few different sizes. I didn't see it in person in any WHBM stores near me. It’s a beautiful dress, and looks great on me I think, but I don’t have the right shoes or topper for it. The event is outdoors in August and I’ll be doing a lot of standing so I'm thinking I'd want some simple cream or white sandals, and even in August nights can be a little cool in my neck of the woods but I don't think this white denim jacket has the right proportions. I already have a dress that would work for this event, and already have the right supporting acts for it.
The new dress sure is lovely! Deep navy with flowers in a blue that’s almost purple, mauve, and a light pink/mauve. No black or white or warm colors. The event is a HS reunion where I’ll be singing and playing in the band of classmates that is providing the entertainment, so this more-slinky-than-usual-for-me style would be just right.
Hmmm….what do you think I should do? Keep or return? What sort of sandals and topper would work? The sandals have to be flat or very low heels.
FINDS
The first four finds represent what I show in the photos, and the last two finds are sandals I have ordered but not received yet. .
PHOTOS
1+2 The dress in Medium (regular). Too tight around hips/derriere.Threw on some gold sandals that are wrong for this cool toned dress.
3+4 Large Petite, which I think is the right size.
5 The dress (LP) with blue suede sandals and a white denim jacket. The shoes seem too busy (too much lacing and strappage) for this dress and not the right blue, and the white jacket does not have the right proportions to my eye.
6 – the other dress I already have, worn to a casual Hawaiian themed wedding last year.
