Coloured Trenches - ETA with new questions

I loved the look of the coloured trenches in this post, but the price is above my budget. Has anyone seen cheaper versions - like $150 or less? Extra points if in Australia or ship overseas!

Hi Anne. I got the black one in Finds from ASOS last year and wore it all through late Autumn, early Winter and early Spring. It's medium weight poly cotton, lined. Not warm enough for true winter, but I did wear it on some days in deep winter with a long cardigan underneath.
They have other colours. Personally I really like the rust.
They also have something called a "mac". I am not sure what the difference is, but it looks very similar to a trench.

And while I was collecting these finds in ASOS I spotted a rather nice teal trench coat, but that is by another brand, so I am not sure what it is like.

And, pertinent to Angie's suggestion, did you know that Zara is now selling online here? Much better than going to a store.

I have been looking for trench also but I have given up on shipped items for this item a moment. I ordered one and it smelled horribly and did not "air out" - back it went! Look online and there seems to be a problem this year-even at better stores!. If you decide to order online- check out the reviews to see if other folks have had this problem- I found quite a few.
Whatever they are using to coat the trenches to make them water proof seems to be offending culprit?????
Anyway- I have decided to purchase one in person so I can make sure it does not have that chemical smell that gives me a headache. So continues the hunt. So far nothing I have seen or tried on "wows me" on me. Thinking about visiting daughter ..... and double bonus--she has some great stores by her.

I got a raspberry Michael Kors ( the MK for the masses MK) trench at inexpensive price At TJMAXX, which I know is US but meaning, maybe various types and price points they’re out there if you cast a wide enough net. The bright color is fabulously fun, so I’d be patient and yours may turn up!

I'm very tempted by the ASOS slate one. A few questions
1)What's ASOS sizing like? I'm thinking the 10 should fit me based on my measurements (which are approx 34/28/38, give or take)

2) for those who know me - would this be too smoky a colour? I need clear colours (actually I just bought a blouse in a smoky blue which I need to run past you all)

3) do you think double breasted style would be too much on 5"4 me?

Brooklyn, I have just found a post where you said you ordered a size up from Asos. Did you do that with the trench?

No, I ordered my usual size (10). I tend to order a size up with ASOS if it’s a bottom because I am bigger in the hips/thighs and I have found them to be smallish on anything fitted. I think with the coat it’s the chest fit that’s critical because the coat flares out at the hips.
I am 35 in the chest, if that helps.

Don't know how you feel about London Fog. They have variety in stores in US and on Amazon. In fact a store by me just had them go on sale so I am going to check them out today. Their prices vary a little higher and a little lower than your suggested price point.

I ordered 2 of the ASOS ones since there was that deal Brooklyn mentioned today, but will certainly look out for london fog if they don't work out and of course, check the smell!

I think if it’s blue, the muted colour will still work on you, Anne, however you might want to check that the colour works with the clothes, if you plan to wear it open.

Managed to get my trench today- In the exact color I was looking for- YAY! I got it at a local store on sale but here is the coat on amazon. I really needed to try it on to figure size and of course to make sure the finish didn't give me a headache.
Anne- I hope your trench is all you hope it will be. Wear it in great health and style Let me know what color you picked.

efbgen - congratulations of find the trench you were after!! Also thanks for the London Fog recommendation. They have a great selection, but don't ship to Australia is seems.

Smittie - good point - actually the coat are quite long so may cover anything I wear underneath.

Anne-Color me stunned AND apparently very ignorant! I never would have believed that a well known company like London Fog had no stores that carried their line nor would the parent company fail to ship there. WOW! Is it the same with Amazon and Ebay New? Dang!
