Colorful Maximal on a cold day!

Hey y'all!
Just a quick post, inspired by Angie's shoe list I thought I'd share my outfit--built around my silver sneakers. Its spirit week at school where I teach-today's theme is "Y2k" Since I don't have a Juicy track suit (ha!) or a mini skirt--too cold, I went just inspired with some bold color, texture and my original vintage accessories.

I often find if I have a theme to build around, it is much more fun and creative planning an outfit. And the sneakers are very comfortable, (first wearing today)

Angie--I think the Mr snapped a quick one this morning because he thought it was too much! haha. but not a good photo (he much prefers all black) I also tend to wear a lot of black, but with my style words of
" Eclectic, Edgy, Glam" the metallic fits right in. The sneakers are really good! Im looking forward to trying some more outfits with them

Roberta--thank you! the fur is so light and really warm. was a crazy Nordstrom sale item one day a few years ago. very touchable

Lisa--I call it the burrito jacket. or the spacesuit. It is a lot.....but so cozy and a little obnoxious too. I thought it would be perfect for my winter commutes for visibility. The lands end down is responsibly sourced, and seems well made, Im curious how the metallic finish will last

Sarah--yes! im feelings lots of clueless and mean girls vibes. but only color wise A student brought in a hot pink fur balaclava and had me put it on--now that was something--

kkards- the sneakers are surprisingly comfy. better than the stan smiths for me, I need a comfy one and have eccos & nike & brooks also. I walk alot, several miles every day and some of the more fashion sneakers don't really have the support (for my 50+ year old feet!)

Runcarla--yes! I think you also appreciate Lands End. Have you noticed they must have a new designer? they have always felt solid, but basic and Im noticing a bit more forward styling in their offerings. I wish more companies would follow their size inclusive model!

Dee-- thank you! Ive always been into textures, my favorite coat from when I was a grade schooler was a lush dark teal faux fur--one of those items that just stands out in my memory

On colors:
The deep Pink is one of those colors---it looks great with my complexion, but it also can feel a bit too bright emotionally, and
Barbie--ish, especially with my blond hair. For those of us into color theory, I always find it interesting how much color affects our moods. both in surroundings and in our clothing. Beyond just the flattering tones they provide to our skin/eyes.

So cute! I totally hear you about not being in the mood to wear hot pink all the time but it does look great on you.
