I have had my colors done multiple times and ended up in multiple “seasons”! (Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Light Summer). I have features of all these seasons which makes it confusing. There are people that do not fall neatly into any one category, or even any of the 8-12 categories that have been arbitrarily set by people who created these systems. Their usefulness is best to help you choose a color scheme for your wardrobe that you plan to stick with. If you have a neutral base and add colorful accessories, than the colors would be for your accessories, etc.
The color season that worked best for me was light summer. The colors resonated best with me and made me feel happy. If I venture a bit more warm it works fine, but too far is not a good idea. I can also go cooler. I can go softer as well and even darker.
The best color typing I ever did was recently. The makeup I use comes from Elea Blake online. It’s a mineral product and works great for my skin, and anyone with rosacea or other sensitive skin issues. You can imagine it’s hard to figure out what colors to purchase over the internet! They have developed a system for testing out colors that makes sense because it is highly personalized and takes the arbitrary categories out. Instead you swatch yourself with multiple shades of mineral colors. If the colors stay true on your skin and do not turn a different shade, than it is a good color for you. Once you have finished figuring out all your colors there are codes that help you to learn if you look better in warm or cool shades of a certain hue, and also if you can do light, medium, dark...they account for all the necessary color parameters. It’s a bit pricey, but you can purchase personalized swatches to remind you of your hues. It was very fun, and if you really want to get your colors done, I would consider looking for someone who will do very personalized typing and not seasonal typing.
I should add that the colors from each of the seasons that I had previously been typed as were in my last group. My original season placements all included colors that I could not wear even though I was supposedly in the season. I always felt suspicious of the results when that happened, and the only times it didn’t was with the summer types.
I cannot tell anything about your color type from your description, but another thought: If the item makes your eyes sparkle and you feel happy wearing it, than it’s a good color.
