I'll admit, I never pay too much attention to trends w/r/t winter accessories (or accessories in general). I just add the pieces I fall in love with, and that's plenty!
That said, I agree with a lot of the observations above. I'm seeing giant scarves (both chunky knits and puffers), pom-poms still going strong, and sherpa/teddy/shearling type fleeces, both as trim and on their own.
I have to laugh at the idea of Buffs and neck gaiters trending; I've had one for over a decade that lives in my hiking kit and sees lots of use in the backcountry, but I rarely reach for it for around-town use because I need to create opportunities to wear my "fancy" scarves.
