Coconut ice WIW - YouLookFab Forum

Hi all have still been working on trying to wear less worn items.
I’ve enjoyed the posts on the forum started off by kkards by teaching us about “vanilla girl” and all the other food posts since!
This soft pink top is not my usual colour but back in 2016 before I learned to be more PPP it was on a huge sale at a Designer Garage Sale. And a month or two later I couldn’t resist some pink leather sneakers to go with it
Luckily I have worn them 70 times now.
The top is a Greek designer called Ioanna Kourbela. It is problematic because actually often too warm in summer. And I only like it with white pants. But last week was cold for summer so I wore it to work.
Also with my 2021 white jeans which are now rather loose around the waist
Top: 2016 only 16 wears

Shoes:Django and Juliette 2016 70 wears

If the top is a little too warm, could you lean into that by wearing it with a topper? That might extend its use to transitional seasons.

Must be a cultural thing? Need to Google its origins. Angie’s pic in first reply is totally right. A sweet tasting coconut mixture that you put one layer in the tray and then colour the other half with cochineal (pink food colouring) and spread that on top. You used to see it at church fairs and the like decades ago and I made it myself way back when. Not for a long time.

It’s popular in Australia. Still sold at fairs and cake stalls, and available at supermarkets in mixed slice trays.

Gorgeous colours. The pink and the white really go well together and that is a pretty top. Coconut ice was my father's favourite sweet. I haven't had any for years as I find it too sweet.

kkards will be shocked! I did have one dark pair and one grey pair but with the weight loss they got too big, had had plenty of wears so I edited them out. I don’t miss them. Jeans have never really been my thing even though I have usually owned one pair.

Very pretty, love that shade of pink. I have a few things that are like that too, very small window of temperature for them to be comfortable. I should challenge myself to wear them more.
