It's been nearly a year since I last posted, but I have been
keeping up with the blog and forum. I so appreciate all of you who've
been posting regularly over the last 18 months- definitely a small space of normalcy to check in here.

I've been contemplating a pair of Birkenstocks, ever since Angie declared them a "Trendy Modern Classic" three years ago. I love chunky shoes, and have the wide feet with slightly high arches to fill out Birkenstocks. But, I was off open-toed shoes at the time, and with spending most of my days at work in a city, didn't think they'd get enough use. Then, when Angie posted casual sock style inspiration this past winter, coupled with working from home, I started looking in earnest. I wanted leather uppers, a color other than black/brown/tan, and the wider "regular" width. And, I think I finally found them! I love the dark teal/turquoise, and it works well with the navy, pinks, and denim in my summer casual clothes. I'm wearing them a bit more around the house, but very close to "cutting the tags."

Bonus picture of impulse purchase Swedish Hasbeens, after last week's clog blog post. Loved the color, but the leather was quite thin and very stiff- so stiff that I thought the metallic might wear off before I'd broken them in. So, I've already boxed them up and taken them back to Nordstrom's. Hoping to find just the right new pair of clogs this fall, but I have plenty of time.
