chewyspaghetti 5/24/12 WIW- and What I've Been Up To!

Hi Everyone- miss you all!
I just wanted to stop by quickly and share a WIW post. Thanks to Biscuitsmom for passing this lace cami on to me- it turned this closet orphan top into something that I will be wearing a lot more. It's unseasonably cool here lately, so this will be perfect for the park today.
I'm still crazy busy- we're still moving, my son is finishing his first semester of classes at the JC, and we are heading into a busy month for dance competitions. I'm doing more flea markets and antique fairs, and I have some stuff in a local shop for consignment. I'm enjoying the junking, but it is a lot of work. Here are some pictures from my booth at the Long Beach Antique market last weekend. We had a blast and met some great people.
I hope to be more involved again when things quiet down after summer.

This outfit is absolutely gorgeous. Love everything about it. And the bracelets, the sandals! Perfect combination. Lovely colours too.

Love those shoes! And locker set! You are looking so breezy and cute in that outfit - thank you for checking in and giving us this window into the flea market world. I do many swap meets, but hardly ever antique markets because DH and I don't have much space for furniture and such.

I was just thinking the other day that we hadn't seen you in a while, and was hoping you were doing ok! Glad to hear all is well, and you look great! And the junking/antiquing seems like so much fun to me. Looks like you had some cool stuff in your booth -- I am a sucker for old things with patina!

BTW -- I have one of those ironing boards. Mine happens to be walnut! It's not in use now, but I've used it in the past as a buffet and a behind-the-sofa console table. Love that yellow buffet, btw!

Zap- I am so sorry that I missed you and the rest of the ladies in LA. It was good that I didn't try to make it though, since we ended up having a really crazy day and didn't get half of what we wanted done because my parents decided to come and visit. Next time for sure!

Anne- the dresser did sell (so did the lockers), and pretty quickly. I won't say the exact price, but let's just say that the buyer was happy with her bargain, and I was happy with my profit margin (I bought it at the Thrift Store on Half Price day!) If I had room, I would have kept that piece because I really loved it.

Beth Ann- I was thinking that ironing board would be great for behind the sofa. The guys who bought it had another slightly smaller one already in their cart. They were buying them for a clothing store they own for display. I thought that was a really clever use.

Rae- that is awesome that you're doing swap meets. I hope our paths cross at some point- I haven't tried any swap meets yet.

For any of the local ladies- if you are looking for vintage/antique furniture/home decor you can always let me know to keep an eye out for you. I come across a lot of pieces that I don't take because I only have so much room, but I am happy to find special pieces for my YLF friends!
